Urza9814
Anyone know where I can get a music composition program, similar to Finale? If you don't know what Finale is, it's a music composition program...it shows the staff and you click to put the notes on. One very VERY important thing I need though is a way to do guitar tabs. I also need a way to transfer it to windoze to print if possible. If not, I'll need to be able to save it, preferrably as a MIDI. Anyone know of anything? marcnino
I don't know about a Finale clone, but there are several guitar-oriented software apps for Linux. The best one for you might be KGuitar... it is a pretty robust tablature creation app, and also supports MIDI (if memory serves me). Marc... Hashimoto
AFAIK there really isn't a match for Finale, but you could try one of the following: Lilypond Noteedit Brahms (for KDE) Rosegarden Mup (Shareware) Use Google to find links to their homepages. Urza9814
well, kguitar failed. There's one library I need that I don't have and can't get through Urpmi...and I don't feel like installing it manually :P
grendal
I haven't tried it in linux (you'll need wine) but Power Tab is pretty sweet (and free). Franks corner ( http://frankscorner.org/ ) says it works with wine, but no midi playback. Anyways here's the link for power tab : http://www.power-tab.net/ and if you get it working, there are alot of power tabs out there, if you want them that is. Urza9814
I got that windoze one...it's nice...I don't need it anymore though...I wrote 1:35 of solid, looping, riff goodness...problem is, it's just a buncha forced together riffs...lol...as I suspected, I can't write music...but now I have proof to show my band :P
