zero0w
Folks, FlashPlayer for Linux 7.0 r25 is released today! -> Macromedia Flash Player Download Center Linux The workaround trick I mentioned at this thread is no longer required with this new version. Now let's see if Flash 7.0 really doubles the performance from 6.0 as Macromedia claimed so in their ads, under Linux. PS: RPM version will be released later at here: http://macromedia.mplug.org/ Update: Just hit the news: Macromedia Feeling Lucky with Linux Player http://www.internetnews.com/ent-news/artic...cle.php/3359991 Edited May 28, 2004 by zero0w
Gnubie
That's great, but I am more concerned with shockwave. :D
Qchem
I'm interested to read in the article that redhat is supposedly going to include flash player in its next distro. Considering their usual stance on non GPL and binary-only packages this would REALLY surprise me!
Guest sublime78ska
Folks, FlashPlayer for Linux 7.0 r25 is released today! I installed the rpm, but it doesn't work in mozilla (mozilla-1.6-12mdk on ML10.0). I'm not too surprised since flash 6 didn't work on this version of mozilla or 1.4 It does work in Opera, though, which gives me hope. about:plugins shows: File name: libflashplayer.so Shockwave Flash 7.0 r25 Anyone know what I can do to figure out what's wrong? In the past was the problem the wrong version of gcc? I have 3.3.2-6mdk in case it's still an issue. Thanks for your help! Phil
bvc
I know zero0w mentioned the following link http://macromedia.mplug.org/ but since there always seems to be those. Flash bla bla threads where people have tried tarballs or anything other than an rpm from this link http://macromedia.mplug.org/ I just wanted to emphasize that the rpms at this link http://macromedia.mplug.org/ have never failed me in close to, round about, something like, 2 years. :D :D :D In ML-10 clicking on the link (example) http://sluglug.ucsc.edu/macromedia/urpmi/m...0.25-1.i386.rpm will give you a popup of the Software Installer. Phil If you're having trouble getting it working with mandrake 10.0 you should post you problem. It works just fine for me using mozilla, as did the last version, which I was running untill I saw this thread.
nggalai
Still the same problems with synchronising audio/video, I'm afraid. Too bad, really. :( Apart from that, it seems a tad faster, more stable, and it doesn't seem to eat up as many CPU cycles as release 6 did. 93, -Sascha.rb
