OK my problem is this, I have a lot of stuff on my current Linux box, that will take an extremely long time to backup.

I have Linux 9.2 and windows XP dual booting on the system and everything is running fine.

I have even managed to upgrade from one version of 9.2 to another, no problems.

However 10, says it can't read my Partions, so it will need to wipe the Harddrives

each one on my system. Is there anyway to get round this, such as telling the stupid thing what partitions there are and where.

This is of course happening with the graphical install, using a network install from my other box.

Do I need to do a text install upgrade to get past this??

Any help greatly apprieciated

Can you use an expert install with the network? Also, custim partitioning should get you to a place where you can choose wht is wht. However, if it can't read the table, none of these will be of any use! :o

Thanks I'll give that a try, whats so annoying is that 9.2 has no problem whatsoever with reading the damn thing!

I think its the almighty's way of teaching me not to dual boot! :)

I used to have this attitude as well. Until a fujitsu harddrive failed.

I lost two novels, 56 short stories and ten years worth of diaries.

The upgrade can wait, the backup can't.
