Gowator
Why are you talking about compiling kernels and 64bit arch's? I thought the article was about an easy desktop? Hurray my mandrake news now tells me AMD64 for MDK10Official as of today.... Honestly I dont see the prob I installed MDK 10CE last night .... stick in CD and reboot. apart from it giving me a chance not to wipe the other distros that was about it. I had internet (new nforce2 is working :D) (just typed in passwd/uname) I had Openoffice, kmail .... etc. Then i spent 5 hours customising it the way I wanted.... I had to add urpmi sources (thats not mandrakes fault) for libdvdcss2 and lame and thats about it. What am i missing ? what was hard ..... nothing because Im used to linux. Its a paradigm.... those who spend a long time using XP will find it confusing... so what of course they do. Try drivinh an english stick shift and for a couple of hours you keep trying to change gear with the window winder. After an hour or so its second nature... its no more difficult to drive on one side than the other.
