Do hope they make either a 4th cd available as with CE (that rc, you know.. :P I mean, that previous 10.0 final.. ) or that the mirrors will really be up again.. Edit: yes, a 4th cd is available! Good! Edited April 14, 2004 by aRTee
retcynm
Cool!.....now, if we could just get some mirrors to see the results. ...I know I'm not the only one sitting on a half baked CE Indeed!!! I was in the middle of updating my home file server to 10 last week, when all the mirrors seemed to implode.
obscure_
Does anyone know of a bit torrent or a mirror yet? Cant wait :P
Darkelve
Say, wait, then didn't they beat SuSe on it? At least these guys were saying their distro would be the first official retail/commercial distro with kernel 2.6 to hit the shelves this year. But, now that Mandrake Official is out, this isn't true? Or is it? Not that it really matters, but it's an interesting nugget of information nevertheless. aRTee
Yep, they did beat SUSE, but then again, where can a non-member get 10.0OE? So, can we equate this to 'hitting the shelves'? We can claim that it is out, so sofar so good.. :P BTW, dl at 37kB/s, hope it jumps up like it did last time with CE...

bvc
bittorent is a joke, I could care_less for iso's...just give me a good cooker with gnome-2.6 :P
jlc
Interesting that GNOME 2.4.2 is what they are using since they had 2.6 in rc/beta, um I mean 10 ce almost final. :P I'll take a bittorrent.
sttroopers
bittorent is a joke Well, bittorrent is only as good as the people using it. The more people using it, the better and faster it is.
bvc
Interesting that GNOME 2.4.2 is what they are using since they had 2.6 in rc/beta, um I mean 10 ce almost final. :P that was a major part of the goof, that started this mirrorless mess. It wasn't suppose to be in ce or official....just cooker, for further devel. and if that's what it takes for bt to be good....no wonder it stinks
sitor
Why does everyone want the ISO's immediately? Most of you guys already installed 10.0 CE, so if the mirrors go up and you update it, it should be the same as 10.0 OE. Or am I wrong? Does it make sense to put 10.0 OE over a 10.0 CE? Ciao, Sitor
aRTee
Copy from mandrakeclub article at: http://www.mandrakeclub.com/article.php?sid=1913 Distro: Mandrakelinux 10.0 Official Day ! Posted by fafane on Wednesday, April 14 @ 14:04:50 CEST ( reads) On thursday March the 4th, we launched Mandrakelinux 10.0 Community. One month, one week and one day later, we launch the official release, Mandrakelinux 10.0 Official ! The torrent files are ready, silver members and above may download the 3 first ISOs of the PowerPack (PWP) of that release (+ 2 CDs Bonus) and standard members may get the 100% GPL 3 ISOs of the download (DLD) edition (+ 1 CD Bonus). Members with a Gold membership will get the 3 PowerPack Plus (PWP+) ISOs and 4 CDs bonus. Corporate members will also get the DVD ISO of the PowerPack Plus (PWP+). In order to download the PowerPack edition, you may upgrade your standard or alumni membership (The procedure is explained in our FAQ) or you may subscribe to Mandrakeclub if you are not a member yet. Most of the Official RPMs are available for Mandrakelinux 'Community' users. Menu The differences between Official and Community releases Pre-orders and discounts on Mandrakestore The mirrors are back ! Commercial and propietaries RPMs are on-line BitTorrent and HTTP access What's next ? The differences between Official and Community releases Thanks to all the community and their great feedback, Mandrakelinux 10.0 'Community' was a great basis in order to release the stable and supported 10.0 'Official'. We will now officially support Mandrakelinux 'Official' on Mandrakeexpert but 'Community' may be updated thanks to 'Distribution', 'Contrib' and 'update' 10.0-Community mirrors (the list is now available) The Community branch is designed for those who need the very latest features at the soonest opportunity, regardless of potential glitches. Mandrakelinux 10.0 Official is the new default stable and supported distribution. Our 10.0 Official Milestone is similar to a Mozilla Suite 1.7 that should be soon the stable Mozilla development path. Updates will be available as usual into the related updates section (Mandrakelinux/official/updates/10.0) or through MandrakeUpdate. This is the distribution we recommand for any individuals, institutions, companies... However, if you would like, on top of having the latest Mandrakelinux stable distribution with security updates directly merged into the packages, to have the exciting feelings to be able to also have access to the latest new versions of some packages, but without the risk and potential instability of the Mandrakelinux Cooker development version, you are welcome to use the Mandrakelinux 10.0 Community version available inside Mandrakelinux/devel/10.0/. But be warned, security updates are merged into the packages, but also some bugfixes or new versions which may add, from time to time, a touch of instability, but, hey, isn't that a great feeling? Remember that the Mandrakelinux 10.0 Community is a still evolving and not officially supported distribution on Mandrakeexpert. Moreover, we recommend not to install Community packages on an Official version. First this will void your support contract, and second this is not aimed to be. Pre-orders and discounts on Mandrakestore Everybody now get a 15% pre-order discount on Mandrakelinux Discovery, PowerPack and PowerPack+ boxes on Mandrakestore. As usual, standard members will get a 20% discount. 25% discount for silver and above !
