Hi

I have a Sony DC TRV 140 and it is working perfect under MD 10.

Sonys instruction is VERY wrong. Go out and buy an i-link cable for 1398 Firewire.

The usb cable you have from the box is useless.

I talked to Sony and asked them about drivers for open source sinvethey allready is making drivers for MAc, which is very closed to linux.

The response was : we are not interested, our products is working fine with windows and that is what we are supporting.

Also Sony camera DCS-T1 is working fine with MD. Needs to be set to USB PTP mode.

Both Digicam and Gphoto detects it.

DC TRV140 works fine with mainactor

Just a small note about firewire and usb

You sounded desperate about trying to make your camera work with usb, but I can assure you that firewire is your best option.

Firewire is the best because it allows you to transfer your videos in real time with DV quality (720x576), because it allow you to control your camera from the computer (I find it more confortable), and, in case you your camera has DV In, you can record back to tape.

USB doesn't allows anything of the above mentioned, and the video quality factor is its worth aspect.
