Internet? I don't need no stinking internet.

Ok, this time I didn't get the "SIOCADDRT:Network is unreachable" error.

 

Here's what I got from route:

Ping did not work again.

iphitus, I'm going to shut down Win again and log back into Linux so that I can give your suggestion a shot (Dual boot hell :cheesy: ). I be back in a little bit.

Looked at my post and realized it looked like crap. Lemmie try that again except with"/" representing the division in collumns.

Iphitus, pulled the power (waited for 10 sec. just to be sure), restored power and followed your instructions. No change. That would have been too easy :P .

 

Still stuck. :help:

Don't ask me how, but I back on the internet in Linux. :headbang::cheeky::cheesy: :D :thumbs::lol2::woot:

 

Thanks to all and their suggestions. I learned a lot just trying to fix this problem.

 

Here's what it finaly came down to. I was reviewing all of the suggestions (I was at the end of my rope) and came accross bvc's comment about a firewall. I know I dissabled the thing a couple of weeks ago, but decided to check anyway. When I looked It was set to block everything. Thinking surely this isn't the problem, I turned it off again (no clue how it re activated in the first place). Lo and behold...... I am connected again :thumbs: .

 

Anyway, I just wanted to give a great big thanks to all of you. I love this board. Hopefully I'm learning enough that I can start contributing to the answers and not just the questions :D

:wall: you know what? last night when I was typing one of my suggestions I thougt it could be a firewall issue but I quickly overlooked that possibility while I was typing.

 

B) Cool thing that you did not end up reinstalling. I read someones post (dont know where or when) that said that if you need to reinstall linux just to connect to the internet things are extremely messed up and most problems can be fixed with a little tinkering.

 

Anyway, congratulations!!! :thumbs:
