psycho-killer Posted April 1, 2004 Report Share Posted April 1, 2004 hi there i know u all are prolly getting fedup with my newbie quastions but i will be happy if i can just get 1 app installed having much trouble..i did the install of URPMI choosing the mirrors and pasting the stuff in the console and let it update the hdlist..After thay i tried to install a package and this was the message. [root@localhost Documents]# urpmi apollon-0.9.2-1lpf.i586.rpm unable to access rpm file [apollon-0.9.2-1lpf.i586.rpm] error registering local packages do i need the .src.rpm or will it install already compiled binarys as well? tyme Posted April 1, 2004 Report Share Posted April 1, 2004 (edited) if the file is in the directory you're in, try: urpmi ./apollon-0.9.2-1lpf.i586.rpm however, i'm guessing you want plf and not lpf (that is, if it is from the penguin liberation front). also, if you didn't download the file and are just trying to install it from the repo's you could simply do: urpmi apollon and it should download and install it for you. A little trick to avoid the typos would be to type in # urpmi apo and then hit the tab key to automatically fill in the rest of the filename.
