bvc
What does the README and INSTALL files say? A tarball won't do anything for the kde, gnome menus. You'll have to add it yourself. Why not an rpm???????

bvc
are those club sources listed in your config? No, but it is a french mirror that is very fast and quickly updated. Best I've ever used.
