Aza
I am trying to set up ICS between XP machine and a MD 9.2 machine. Networking seems to be fine because on the logon it says I am connected to "DOWNSTAIRS.mshome.net". On startup almost everything is "OK" when looking at the verbose mode apart from something called "DM". but yet even still when I try to gain acces to tinternet it say page cannot be found! Cannonfodder
I don't know anyting about ISC but could something be interfering such as a firewall? Turn off all the firewalls (if on) and see if connection happens.. .if not, what else?
iphitus
Dont worry too much about DM. Thats fine
Aza
turning off firewalls made no difference still no internet in MD 9.
roland
- witch machine is connected to internet ? XP or Linux ? and how: eth ? router ? - can the machine plugged on the Wan connect ? can it ping google.com - can you ping each machine ? by ip addresse, by there name ? Btw: I'm not a specialist but I've heard somewhere that better NOT give a valid domaine name for the machines on the local network. Better give a name like DOWNSTAIRS.local.network and I guess UPSTAIRS.local.network edit: I guess the reply of the first question is on a previous post you made. no need to reply again I guess. The rest of my post is still relevant I hope. Perhaps more later if I can. Edited February 29, 2004 by roland
