Ghil Vertefeuille
Gowator
V. Quick translation.... When I try and enter into Harddrake (or sometimes into the Gerneral Control Panel) my mouse freezes, and I have to reboot. I have a Microsoft USB wheelmouse attached to USB port 1. Perhaps you can help me. ?
Gowator
p.s. Im sure Ghil will be happy with an answer in English.... I see elsewhere you are having problems with the Xf86Config-4 .... Is it only the mouse which is USB ??? Perhaps the problem is the USB in gerneral, not the mouse and the harddrake autodetection is cuasing it to hang ??? Ghil Vertefeuille
The only thing I have that is USB is the mouse. and for the XF86Config-4, it's been solved, all is well :P
Ghil Vertefeuille
I did it alone, by replacing the mouse with a PS/2 one.... and now a another question ;) How can I adjust the mouse sensitivity (I'm running KDE 3.1) Edited February 16, 2004 by Ghil Vertefeuille
Gowator
Ghil, I would guess that if this solves the problem that your USB isn't working. Of course if you have no other devices you don't need to care but perhaps disable it in BIOS for now. On the second question... I will have to wait till I get home unless someone else can answer. arthurking
Hi Ghil. I had the same problem with my usb mouse. I'm not sure if you replaced the mouse with a ps/2 version or did you use a usb->ps/2 adapter? I used the adapter and all was well. I had no problem with any other USB device (webcam and usb memory stick) just the mouse (optical too). For mouse adjustments go to K->Configuration->KDE->Peripherals->Mouse. Lots of options to explore there. There's also MCC->Hardware->MouseDrake, but this is to configure your mouse type. cheers.
aRTee
Quick addition: there is also an option you can put into the xfconfig file to change the mouse speed, something like accelleration or so, in the mouse section. Just in case you aren't happy with the options of kde...
