Gowator
I want to set up a special user that has no permissions to do ANYTHING except su to root. I find very long and complex root passwords kinda tedios. Anything secure like w3ffg56x998237g4 (from a random tap at the keyboard) is kinda difficult to remember and a pain to keep typing.... My idea is to have remote access from outside my local IP range only allowed by one user with a complex password like above. A two stage password system as it were, where the first user is just a staging user, Id quite like a time limited login to root (like a minute) or the connection is closed. I know i can prevent remote root console login's but how do I also disable other user accounts except one? liquidzoo
In the ssh setup in webmin, you are able to specify which users are able to ssh into your system. It's pretty easy to set up, so that way you could restrict ssh access to 1 user.
