kde-head
I'm based in the UK,and I'm thinking of turning up at the next LUG in my area. Does anyone here have experience of a LUG - was it worth while? would you recommend participating in one? what benefits do being part of LUG bring? any thoughts ,experiences would be appreciated. Thanks.
null
I joined the local LUG in my city for about 7 or 8 weeks. I received about 30-50 emails per day from their newsgroup. Most of the emails were not of interest to me (me = newbie). It seemed to me that all the members were network admins discussing security and the like. The LUG did have monthly meetings at a local college, and the occasional Install-Fest, but in the short time I was a member, I did not attend a meeting. I got tired of the massive amount of daily emails, but I may check out one of the upcoming Install-Fests and actually meet some people.
