dude67 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2010 Just today I was faced with this problem: I cannot start Amarok. Whenever I try to start it, it hangs with the flash graphics: Amarok - rediscover your music. I cannot start it from K-menu nor from terminal. This is the info in terminal: [dude67@localhost ~]$ amarok -v Qt: 4.6.2 KDE Development Platform: 4.4.3 (KDE 4.4.3) Amarok: 2.3.1 [dude67@localhost ~]$ amarok -d Calling appendChild() on a null node does nothing. Connecting to deprecated signal QDBusConnectionInterface::serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString) amarok(26812)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig: amarok(26812)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig: amarok(26812)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig: QGraphicsLinearLayout::removeAt: invalid index 1 amarok(26812)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig: <unknown program name>(26811)/: Communication problem with "amarok" , it probably crashed. Error message was: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply" : " "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken." Greg2 5 Report post Posted July 28, 2010 Have you recently upgraded to Mandriva 2010.1? Try removing all the amarok stuff in ~/.kde4 then try starting amarok again.
dude67 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2010 Excellent; thanks Greg! There was this: ~/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/ I renamed it and amarok started without a problem! I knew I could trust you guys!

Greg2 5 Report post Posted July 30, 2010 You have the proper rpms installed, so you could try deleting your playlist located at: /home/rr/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/current.xspf Then open amarok and try creating a new list. If that doesn't work... I guess you will have to add them slowly. :)

I guess you will have to add them slowly. :) well I think that's what I'll have to do because I already did that , but thx anyway, if I just add those 1 time and save the play list I won't have to do it several times I think
