caddyman379
While I was compiling the kernel, i lost power for a few seconds (it seems to be getting more common in my particular area) and now im down 550MB with no idea where those files went... how can i get that space back so i can start compiling again?? i dont think that its in the folder i originally had the kernel in (i.e the one the tar file extracted too)
bvc
yes, delete the kernel (linux<version>) folder in /usr/src/ and start over with a new one. Mine is; [root@ml root]# ls /usr/src linux@ linux-2.6.0/ RPM/ also look in these dir's. Do not delete the dir's, just what's in them! [root@ml root]# ls /usr/src/RPM BUILD/ RPMS/ SOURCES/ SPECS/ SRPMS/ [root@ml root]# That should get you your space back. If not, let us know.
