Kieth
In console, I can run 'mdkapplet' and I will be notified of updates, otherwise no. In 'mdkapplet-config' there are 2 options: 'Check for newer "Powerpack" releases' and "Check for missing "Restricted" media'. The only one checked is the 2nd choice above. How can I get the applet to run automatically? Thanks, Kieth
willie
Type in a console: mdkapplet --force & Then right click on the icon in the taskbar and choose start at boot. Or something like that. That should do the trick, atleast in 2008
Kieth
OK, willie, I tried what you said. I was able to open the icon, but it was already marked (checked/ticked) 'Always launch on startup'. So anyways I decided to wait until there were some updates (checking through MCC) to see if it would work, and sure enough - nope, it didn't. So in console, I started the applet, and after a couple of minutes it appeared, then I downloaded the new updates. So it still isn't working, but as I said, it is marked to 'launch on startup'. Any ideas? Thanks, Kieth
willie
Just wait a couple of days, it should work if there are any new updates.
