  2. Okey dokey, here's mine, even though I don't use Mandrake. I like it nonetheless. :)
  3. You got that right my friend!!! Thanks to you and all involved!!
  4. Holy crap, IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I downloaded and installed alsa-oss and then recomplied MPLayer and IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy crap, there IS a God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks!!!!!
  5. Okay, I'm getting somewhere! Diego from Mplayer's website told me to type: modprobe snd-pcm-oss as root and I did and voila! Baby it works! But it only works if I type that as root, if I launch MPlayer it won't work again. Now I need to figure out what alsa dev packages I need...

  7. I just downloaded the codecs package all-20050115 and essential-20050115 and put both in the /usr/lib/win32 folder. Still no audio. The only way I can get audio with mplayer is to right click on a file and chose Open With MPlayer. I think the external dock is the culprit. I even went to the command line and typed: root@WaynesWorld:/home/ctt1wbw # cd /home/ctt1wbw/Videos root@WaynesWorld:/home/ctt1wbw/Videos # mplayer -ao esd BattlestarGalactica1x12.avi MPlayer 1.0pre6-3.3.4 © 2000-2004 MPlayer Team CPU: Intel Pentium M Banias (Family: 6, Stepping: 5) Detected cache-line size is 64 bytes CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1 Compiled for x86 CPU with extensions: MMX MMX2 SSE SSE2 77 audio & 188 video codecs Failed to open /dev/rtc: No such file or directory (it should be readable by the user.) Should I let MPLayer's site know about this or what?
  8. Same thing, the external MPlayer dock shows up and I get no audio... vewwy vewwy stwange...
  9. Oh. My. God. I think I'm on to something. If I launch MPlayer from a custom launcher that I made, MPlayer and the external dock shows up, I get no audio. This is where I've been for the past two weeks. Now for some reason, I can right-click on a show and select play with mplayer, mplayer launches but the external dock doesn't show up, and i get audio. What in the world is going on?
  10. Well, I download and installed esd and this made my system sounds activate now. I am understanding what you're trying to tell me, I just can't figure out how to make MPLayer produce audio.
  11. What in the name of all that's holy is going on with MPlayer. I still don't have audio. I managed to get it via apt-get and nothing. I'm going to erase it and start all over again.
  12. I'm using Ubuntu right now. I tried the apt-get mplayer, but's not in the repositories. But after I reinstalled, I get the esd option under the audio tab in the prefs menu... I didn't have that before. Now that I have that option, what audio codec family do I chose?
  13. Okay, I downloaded MPlayer and the newest codecs. Compiled and installed. STILL no audio...
