  1. hi i working on apache now for 3 days and cant get my subdomain to work. i've put public_html in my home directory with a index.html file. i didnt have this problem with 10.1 official. when i type in http://localhost/~superdoyle i get, Object not found! The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again. If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster. Error 404 Mandriva 2006
  2. sorry i havent been able to respond sooner my ram chip went out on my other puter so i'm stuck on windowz till i get a new ram chip for it also on my last attempt to install i got a error of libpam on the text install.. Thanks for the help :D
  3. i done a text installation cause graphical locks up at the boot loader. after the files was installed and etc. it asked for a root pw it asked for a new users i filled in the info clicked next after that, far as the installation there was no errors during it i made kde as my default desktop. this is like my 8th time trying to install with no luck specs 466 mhz celeron 128mb ram 15gb hard drive
  4. ok i finally got 2005 to install.. all good i was happy atleast i thought i was. anyway after i boot 2005 i brings me to the prompt. i done startx in failsafe, didnt work. when i boot in regular mode it asks me for login i put my login in and says incorrect.. what am i doin wrong here Moved to "Installing Mandriva".   5. i have a Intel Celeron 466Mhz, 128MB RAM and have burned all the 2005 iso's to disk but i cant get it to install. so for now i have to stay with 10.1 official
  6. ok, i've found out i can't install LE on my sys.. i tried it on cd and easy urpmi. however i got the 10.1 official to go though. i'll be happy with that for the help

  8. hi i i'm running 10.1 community.. i was told i could update my distro to LE using easy urpmi... if so how would i go about this.. i done updated my urpmi to 10.2

  10. yes. i done ifconfig down on eth0 & eth1 and i just downloaded wvdialer and it does the same thing. heres what i got from wvdialer. it just keeps redialing over and over --> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.54.0 --> Initializing modem. --> Sending: ATZ ATZ OK --> Sending: ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0 ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0 OK --> Modem initialized. --> Sending: ATDT7244300797 --> Waiting for carrier. ATDT7244300797 CONNECT 460800 --> Carrier detected. Waiting for prompt. --> Connected, but carrier signal lost! Retrying... --> Sending: ATDT7244300797 --> Waiting for carrier. NO CARRIER --> No Carrier! Trying again.

I been working on this for hours and no go. i managed to install the drivers for my conexant hcf modem.. the install when smooth but soon as i dial out kppp keeps redialing.. i searched the net for hours on this subject on this but seems no one else has had this problem. perhaps i should try another dialer?? plz
  12. I went out and picked up another net card hope this will solve the problem. If not i'll just stick to the wondows computer being my main connection anyways thx for the help
  13. as it turned out i dont think i can set up networking. i installed a second network card and it caused a conflict with my computer. it wouldnt boot. so i had to take it back out and reinstall mandrake About the M'kay that virtulaly i was lost. i'm still learning linux after starting out with knoppix then moved up to mandrake. any help is greatful linuxuser for 2 months Thanks
  14. i recently installed mandrake 10.1 community in to my computer and as it turns out i liked it.. ok enough of that my problem can somone tell me how to set up ICS on my linux machine and make my other computer my slave.. i have 2 net cards in the linux computer with a crossover cable running to the other computer 1 Linux computer 2 XP
