  1. The ATI driver work perfectly with Xorg 6.7 and NOT with 6.8 Maybe it'll be fix into the next release ...
  2. I've finally solved my problem. I think it's a specific problem to my burner : Sony CRX320E (bulk version of the CRX320A). I don't know why MDK didn't recognise it as a burner ... I've just updated the firware of my burner from NYK1 to NYK5 available on this page (http://sony.storagesupport.com/cdrw/crx320adwn.htm). And now all work perfectly, my burner is recognised :D
  3. Nobody knows how to fix it ?? Is there anyone to help me ? thanks
  4. I believe that there is no rpm package of Netscape 7.2. Perhaps you should try the netscape-common package. Why not using their installer ? Or why not using firefox or mozilla ? They're really stable and efficient.
  5. My burner is IDE. When i launch the k3bsetup it finds my burner but i can't burn and get these errors. I've forgotten that when it fails i get this message "mkisofs didn't exit normally" "unknow error 255' maybe it won't be really helpfull ... You've said that cdrecord is looking for an scsi drive . Where to change this ? How can i let it know it's an IDE drive ? Is there any config files to change ? Thanks
  6. Hi all, I've a big problem with my burner; i can't burn at all even when i'm root (with k3b, xcdroast .......). When i do a cdrecord scanbus my burner is not recognised and at his place i've my SATA HD. scsibus0: 0,0,0 0) 'ATA ' 'WDC WD1600JD-00H' '08.0' Disk 0,1,0 1) * 0,2,0 2) * 0,3,0 3) * 0,4,0 4) * 0,5,0 5) * 0,6,0 6) * 0,7,0 7) * The problem is that i'm able to read CDs and used to burn with previous version of mandrake (9,10). k3b's log : cdrecord ----------------------- scsidev: '/dev/hdc' devname: '/dev/hdc' scsibus: -2 target: -2 lun: -2 Warning: Open by 'devname' is unintentional and not supported. 7. humm, it's weird. Check in your ~.q3a/baseq3/q3config.cfg if your seta r_mode is switched to "3". This option runs q3 in 640*480.
  8. Try to change your resolution with Control-alt-keypadplus or Control-alt-keypadminus. But i don't think the problem is in your xorg.conf file. Have you seen the log ?
  9. You should try to delete or comment all the subsection "Display" with 1024x768 resolution to keep only the 640x480. I believe that by default the resolution used is the highest ?! not sure.
  10. yes you're right, i've forgotten this :P . flash plugin works if you have a 32-bit browser. But it'll be better when the flash plugin will be 64-bit compiled. Java already exists and other video and audio plugins exist too.
  11. Hi, I have installed the driver for my Radeon 9600 on MDK 10.1 and had some troubles. After a successfull install of the driver (except for qt ATI FireGl Control Panel), i've rebooted my box and couldn't load any graphical interface. (I've uninstalled the Mesa module). The ATI driver modifies the file XF86config-4 but when you start, the system looks for xorg.conf. You must have a link between these files. (ln -s xorg.conf XF86config-4) If it's not sufficient you may have to load the fglrx module during the boot. Just add fglrx in your /etc/modprobe.preload. I hope it'll help.
  12. humm, i'm not sure to understand your problem but you must have the boot.iso CD corresponding to the kernel you would like to intall. maybe it'll help.
  13. I've tested the AMD 64 version of mandrake 10.1. You won't be able to download the iso files of mandrake 10.1 official, only the release candidate's. You may have to build your own CDs from the ftp trees if you want the community version. You can install software from the i586 version, and/or compile them for your 64 bits box. The problems are that some libraries and software are missing, there is no available flash plugins and no ATI drivers for 64 bit cpu's. i'm not sure but i think it's possible.
  14. You can burn iso images with nero. Just select "burn CD image" (i can't remember what it is exactly) and when nero ask you for the files, change the .img extension to .iso. That's all, you'll be able to see the mandrake iso files. Your CDs will be bootable.
  15. Yes my printer was turned ON. I finally find out my problem. Actually it was my bios, it disabled the parallel port. I don't know why but it did. It's a know bug from asus motherboards. Sometimes after a reboot the parallel port is disabled ... All is ok now. thanks.
