    kaffeine

right there is quite a few files that might contain the link to start this at boot but i cant find it! its not in the kde Autostart file i dont think cause its a load of characters that dont make sense. As for the rest of them, i dont know where the are exactly located and its annoying having it start at boot. Anyone like this easy task :P
  2. awww bless you lol how times change eh?
  3. ADSL doesnt need a number to dial, just your user name and password, Winblows classes ADSL as dial up as it uses the phone line so asks for a number thats all :)
  4. if that dont work for then do exaclty what i did as im using the frog modem :) http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/speedto...tar.gz?download get the attachment Open a new terminal su with first download untar it copy the whole zip into the new directory then cd into it then edit the speedtouchconf.sh file and comment out the following lines (by putting a # at the start of the lines that you want to comment out) # if [ -z "${USB_TYPE}" ]; then # echo $"No USB Bus found!" | tee -a $LOGFILE # error=`expr $error + 2` # fi id use vi so id put this vi speedtouchconf.sh i (this is insert mode so move down to lines that are identical to the ones above and the #) when you have done Esc :wq (this ends insert then saves and quits) ./speedtouchconf.sh now follow the instructions as it says and set it to start at boot, jobs a good one (Y) KQD6_R204.zip
  5. have to say that i think it looks great :) keep up the good work
  6. welcome aboard :) firsrtly make sure that you do actually read those links cause thats what got my modem working in MDK secondly the commandline is you friend in linux as it tells you whats going on rather then nothing happening with a GUI. Have fun but remember to read, then re-read as ive often missed things by reading stuff once, oh and by the way if you didnt know use this www.google.com/linux for seaching as its good at showing relevant stuff
  7. if your gonna buy Photoshop then why dont you just have a small install of winblows to use it? PS can be a bitch at the best of time for me and im not even that good in it, you might not like being part of pirated software but no one will know if you only use a copy for PS Or go full hog buy a new G5 and PS then use MDKPPC :P
  8. post up your error messages mate that will shead some light on it :)

  15. right everything apart from the mentioned is running smoothly with my connection. Im connected via the infamous Alcatel Frog modem. Using the method posted on here and its set up to connect on boot. Sometime i can leave my connection for hours and it wont disconnect sometimes is a matter of minutes, the thing that puzzles me is the fact that it doesnt so this in M$xp or is due to the fact the MSN constantly pings the server, thereby keepin the connection alive. Im using AMsn at the moment, would a change of client possibly solve this or is the problem likely to be else where
  16. everything that windows uses it totally ignorant to linux partitions so unless you use linux or some 3rd party app you wont have anything to worry about :)
  17. do what most should do search for urpmi and set it up :) solved lots of my probs
