I have just installed Mandrake and I really need help with my Intel 2200 wireless card. I have downloaded the firmware from sourceforge.org but cannot figure out in what folder I should copy the firmware files? Any help is appreciated!

Why I want to recompile the kernel, the reason is that I am trying to install my IPW2200 mini pci card and want to make sure that all the settings are ok. I get the same error message as you. Dont really want to install ndiswrapper . By the way, there is a new driver version out now, 0.12.
