  1. What type of file system does Linux use? Like Windows fat16/fat32/ntfs. And I read that linux does not need to be defraged. How does it pull that off?
  2. What is a good alternative to Windows Media Player?
  3. Haha, I feel stupid. I was tweaking my bios. And I changed the ram timings. And I forgot to set the timings back to default. I was getting Segmentation Fault errors with every game. Then I found out what a Segmentation Fault was then I remember I forgot to change my ram timings back. Everything is fine now.
  4. After looking or a loooonnnngggg time on google for it still haven't found an answer. I am going to try the driver release 5336 instead 6111 and see if it fixes it. The reason I am, people have been having troubles with Mandrake 10 and a Geforce 4 with the latest drivers. Or atleast thats what there forums tell me.
  5. This is the error /usr/local/bin/et: line5: 3015 Segmentation Fault ./et.x86 $* Looking on google right now to see what it means.
  6. When playing Enemy Territory it recives signal 11 and shutdowns for no reason. I can get only about 15 minutes of play time before this happens.
  7. I edit the registry like it told me to but still laggy I'm going to look on google for some info on it if not guess I'll have to keep running under Windows.
  8. I just removed the files manually. The game was real laggy. No matter what the graphic details it was on. In Windows I could run it on high playable. I checked the Transgamers forum and someone else had the problem but people there just told them to upgrade the computer. So no real answer to why it was laggy. I might decide to mess with it tommorow again. I'm going to try to get Tribes 2 to work. To see if its laggy also.
  9. I installed BattleField 1942 just to see how it would run. It runs badly under Cedega. So I'm just going to continue playing it in Windows. How do I uninstall it from the Linux partion?
  10. Thats what I thought to. Atleast thats what the faq on here said.
  11. Search on google said I needed the dev files. I went ahead just put the iso files on the Windows partion. And I'll burn it with nero. I'm going to do a clean install of Windows and Mandrake and put Windows 98 on the Windows partion to save space on my hardrive.
  12. Couldn't find the KB3 as the rpm through urmpi. I went ahead and download the c++ compiler it needed. Then I had to download dependecy(sp?) for that. But now I get this error checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.1 (20021021)) (library qt-mt) not found. Please check your installation! Looking on goole right now for what it means.
  13. I tried to install KB3 earlier but I got this error when trying to ./configure rror: C++ preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check See `config.log' for more details. Ever .tar file I try to configure does this.
  14. I installed Mandrake with cd1. But I downloaded cd 2 and 3 today. How do I burn .iso files in Mandrake?
