  1. Love A.I.'s desktop; it's very stylish!

What's that launcher/docker up left? Is that gimmie? It looks very nice!

And the Mac-type launchbar on the right is also very slick. I was once looking for something like that, but really couldn't find one that would work properly and I would have liked. What is that?

The mac-type launcher is kiba-dock, though it recommended to use the one in SVN.

  2. Boot with "noapic irqpoll acpi=off" which you can also edit into menu.lst

    sudo nano /boot/grub/menu.lst

Thereafter (if there are internet connection, which may overwrite the menu.lst if there's any kernel update, then you just add the same thing to grub again):

sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude safe-upgrade
    sudo aptitude install nvidia-glx-new
    sudo nvidia-glx-config enable

Which wifi card do you have?

  3. Okay;

    go to .icons/<the theme>

you'll see a bunch of folders which shows pix size of the icons. It might be diffrent from theme to theme depending how and when the theme was made (up to date with gnome standard). In each pix folders there's a "places" folders which contains an image file called gnome-main-menu.png. It might be symblink with another image. Nevertheless just replace it with "Gentoo" icon. It just need the name gnome-main-menu.png.

Get a Gentoo icon size 128x128 then you can resize it for each pix folders.

  4. Tired of wallpaper that look like crap because you got widescreen?

I have converted some good looking wallpapers to widescreen size. All of them are size 1680x1050, but they are now easy to resize to another widescreen resolution as they are now widescreen format.

None of the wallpapers were made of me. I only copy/paste/resize/repaint them so they fit nicely widescreens.

    part two soon...

  5. Aye, as in "better than".

I dunno with vendetta, I have been playing it also, it seems it will never come out of the beta stage even with all its regular updates. But again they are two diffrent kind of genre in the MMO space simulation. EVE is tactical where Vendetta relays on each player skill to use the mouse and keyboard (I think FPS players would be very good with Vendetta).

    Lets get Earth&Beyond back!!!!!!! :D

  6. EVE-Online owns Vendetta

To the second question: It was a rumour made by the The Goons Alliance because the lost an important battle.

The Goons = The most dishornest people out there, you can find The Goons in other Online games also. They try to make the lifes so misrable for other players and they use every tricks they can.

Said that - EVE-Online is th most hardcore PvP game out there and it can be very difficult.

  7. I know you need Cedega for the Linux version, but does that come with the client or do you have to pay the Cedega subscription fee? I wonder...

I thought I made it cleared in my first post . You don't need Cedega. The linux /OSX client is build upon the Cedega/cider engine, but that's it - You simple request (which are also described in the link) the linux client which comes in .deb/.rpm/.tgz from EVE-Online.com without any extra charge.

  8. With the new version of EVE-Online comes support for Linux and OSX clients. The Linux and OSX is based on Transgaming Inc. technology and comes in various package formats (.deb .rpm .tgz). No need for purchasing or extra cost by using these clients - You pay the same amount as the Windows user. To get the Linux and OSX client you have to request it on technical petitions for the time being.
