  1. cp the file pm.h from a pre -5 kernel-source's /include/linux folder to your source's /include/linux folder (overwriting the file that is already there) and try to install the driver the normal way.

    If you don't have a source that would work, I've posted the file in this thread

    It works, I've done it.

    MUWAH!!!!! It works! Finally!!!!

    Thank you LiquidZoo <insert worship smiley> !!!

    I just downloaded the file you provided.

    su

    <password>

    cp pm.h /usr/src/linux-2.6.8.1-8mdk/include/linux

    init 3

    sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1.run --add-this-kernel

    sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1-custom.run

    vim /etc/X11/xorg.conf

    <made the changes I needed - eg. Driver "nvidia", Load "glx" then :wq>

    init 5

    tested it in the konsole

    glxgears

  2.

    su

    <password>

    init 3

    sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1.run --add-this-kernel

    now a new file appear called NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111.pkg1-custom.run (or something, it's in the same directory)

    sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111.pkg1-custom.run

    (you'l need the source kernel to do this)

  3. Downloaded.....installed...using it now :)

    So far:

    1 installing errors - libwxgt2.5_1-2.5.1-5.mdk.i586

    I'm gonna report that.

    Impression: Niiiiiiiiice!

    It's really faster than 10.0 !

    Edit: I'll gonna try to download and burn CD 1 to see if it's making any diffrence on the libwxgt error.

    bugs: Sound turn to 0 at every startup

  4. Now I have been speculating and searching for the answers but without luck so I throw the question in here.

    this question might insult someone but here we goes and I may sound M$-ish. All my computer life I've been running M$ and recently change to Mandrake linux and one thing occure(sp?) to me; Where's the defrag and the clean up option to linux??? Is that something Linux don't use? How to keep old unused files filling up the harddisc?

    .:=The AI Dude=:.

    Ps.

    It's not quiet true that I've only been on M$ machine. My first computer was C64 and later Amiga500 :cheesy:

  5. I'm made my mind up to remove XP pro once and for all and installing an another linux distro on my computer. I was thinking of Gentoo because i've heard all the packages is very up to date when someyhing new is released.

    Then this pop up to mind, how diffrent is Gentoo to Mandrake, any diffrences at all than the name?
