  1. Seems the game genre on Linux is really starts to move now.
  2. ID Software have announced that their next big game will be Doom IV. ID software is one of the biggest game supporters of Linux. Frictional Games have released Penumbra: Black Plague. It's a First Person Horror Adventure, the second release in the Penumbra series. Frictional Games have also announced that an expansion of Penumbra: Black Plague - Penumbra: Requiem is in development.
  3. I don't know. Maybe LGP have to pay an amount of money to port the game, but newer and more popular games too much.
  4. Linux Game Publishing (LGP) have announced that they'll porting Sacred: Gold Edition to linux. Moreover Running With Scissors (warning: half/whole naked girls on their homepage) have announced that Postal 3 will be Linux supported.
  5. Rune Soft are ready to port Jack Keane to Linux. To do so, they need 200 pre-orders via Tuxgames or IxSoft. Grubby Games have released another brain stimulating game (puzzle) for kids and adults: The Amazing Brain Train. You control Professor Fizzwizzle through brain-boosting adventure!
  6. Try kiba Dock instead. It's alot more powerful and tweakable than AWN.
  7. Heh, the Ubuntu release almost killed the internet - http://www.internettrafficreport.com/7day.htm
  8. Ubuntu, as it should surprise anyone. But now-and-then Arch linux if I'm bored and don't have anything else to do with my projects (UGA, modding, guide writting etc.) so it have been awhile since last time as there's lot to do most of the time.
  9. Well, it's way better than my English. By the way it's recommendable to use torrents, as people may have noticed there's heavy traffics going on.
  10. Grab it here: www.ubuntu.com/ What's new: www.ubuntu.com/products/whatisubuntu/804features/
  11. On newer models that run 64-bit it should be a problem ;) Don't Average users editing pictures, movies etc. ? There's a big boost to do so on 64bit. But if if we're talking about browser and e-mail, minesweeping I agree.
  12. Get it here: http://www.penumbrablackplague.com/ B)
  13. +1 to what Steve says. AFAIK 64-bit distros comes with 32-bit flash in wrapping so it works with 64-bit browsers. In the next version of Sun Java will be 64-bit supported or use IcedTea instead. You can get the same stuff on 64-bit as in 32-bit.
  14. Highly unlikely. Unless Kieth was running as root and at the same time executing a 'free pr0n' :P script he found somewhere/or got e-mailed, but he had to make executabel first.
  15. Hacker Evolution from exosyphen studios is at this moment getting ported to Linux. The game is similar to the hacker game Uplink from Introversion. Indie game developer 2D Boy is working on World of Goo, a physics based puzzle/construction game.
  16. You may compromise your expectations a bit as KDE4 is very new. They are still working hard to iron out bugs and add new features and apps to it. From Kubuntu.org
  17. You could try with the wubi installer. It installs Ubuntu from windows.
  18. Note, it's a beta driver. Though it works nice here. :)
  19. One thing I have noticed while using 64-bit OS is the speed increase while I'm doing Image editing, movie editing, compiling and other heavy tasks. Also from my experience(s) is it's snappier than 32-bit overall.
  20. Well, if you don't need all the "close-ware" (most of them "pay-ware"?) - you can go with the free version of Mandriva. Also if you lack of internet connection (ADSL or higher) it might be a good idea to invest so you get most apps/libs on CDs/DVDs. I'm not into windows cost this and mandriva/X,Y,Z distro cost that, it all depends what you think it's worth it for you. Do you like the product? Is the prize fair for what you get? Do you want to support Mandriva company that make the distro you like? etc. That's the thing you should take into consideration. As I see things a linux distro is more than just than a product, but that maybe just be me. At Ubuntu we do it a little diffrent than Mandriva. We don't have things like powerpacks etc. but you can buy proffesional support/help (mostly aimed at companies/goverments/institutions) and donations (if you like the product you donate what you can afford or you think it's worth it for you). But again, there's no right and wrongs in which model to choose from, it's individuel (sp?) and all depends from what I've descripted above.
  21. None? Well, here an oldies from my part - [click to enlarge]
  22. The team behind the iTeam game have announced that they'll be starting up a new game - iSoccer. iSoccer is inspired by the old football games "Sensible World of Soccer" and "Football Glory". iSoccer and iTeam are licensed under the GPL. Announcement
