  1. Harddrive = dead

I've no choice but to use my old pc which sadly only has windows on it, not to mention it's not really mines anymore. I really hate sata drives, i'll never trust them again, i think it lasted 2 months pretty sure it has a guarantee, i sure hope so anyway.

    Scary.

  2. Cedega is next to useless... a well configured Wine is equally good.

You have a habit of talking utter garbage. Normal wine is what's useless, you've obviously never used either for a long period of time, if you did you would know cedega is superior at running games, compared to normal wine. If people want cedega so badly, just grab a torrent. Not a big deal really.

  3. Azureus is slower than other BT clients. That's not what stopped me from using it though, the thing that stopped me from using it was the attitude of the developers, i reported a bug in great detail about how azureus semi-kills any running browser, webpages don't load they just show the load sign for a mili-second and then stop. The azureus dev team told me it was a windows problem, i was like well that's funny i'm using linux. You know what happened next? They deleted my bug report, so screw them.

  4. I think I am going to end up getting windows.

If you really love gaming, then go for it. I know if i did, i would using windows right now. I'm more of a console gamer, so no need for me to use it.

  5. Well, that is not a 'dark' theme, for one.....but yes, I could choose a color and tone it down. But then you have to have something to match and go with it. All you have to do is change the color in lines 27, and optionally lines 98 and 99 for the menuitem. This way it's more neutral, which is another reason so much of my stuff is graybased. It allows the user to use it with other things and still look ok. Maybe I'll choose some good popular stuff and release several colors?

It's fine, i'm just being fussy. You've done a good job on the theme, it's a lot more useable than most black themes.

  6. I know what you ment, it's just that I think that's the best use for windows.

Install it, strip it down of all the bloat, seal the box, play games on it.

    A x86 console

And all the work do on Linux (or Mac)

Ah, ok i got confused by your post. Sorry. :embarassed:

Too bad, i only have one half decent computer and it runs only linux. :P

  7. Unlike the python based Bittorrent clients, Azureus uses a single TCP communication port, so you have to forward just that single one. UDP traffic on a single port should also be enabled if you plan using the embedded tracker.

Yes, and that causes a lot of problems. One being speed and some others i'm too lazy to explain.

I recommend you use bittornado, once the new one comes out it's going to blow the pants off every bittorrent client. Shouldn't be too long now.

  8. Well even the companys that do make games for linux, the installers are bull, you often have to jump through hoops to get them installed and most people just can't be bothered (neverwinter nights is a good example)

There should be cd installers, is there a reason why we can't pop in the cd and let it install? Is this a linux problem or the game companys?

Cedega is a problem, people are scared to pay for something that might not work with the game they want to play. They should definetly have some sort of trial, so people can test if there game works then they would see it was worth buying. Linux has great chance on the gaming scene, with nvidia and ati working hard on their linux support. I think linux gaming will improve, but at a very slow rate, i'm talking years here.

It's not just linux gaming that suffers from lack of adverisment, but linux itself. I've never ever, seen a linux advertisment on tv or on a billboard, heck i didn't even know what linux was a year ago.

  9. I have a seagate SATA drive here, it works but not very well. It reads the wrong size, it's a 200GB sata drive and it gets read as a 140GB HD, so i'm losing quite a bit of space, almost considered going back to windows at one point because of this, but i never. Asus are good boards, but i've had some trouble with my nforce4 chipset, linux just doesn't like it.
