Use the mandrake disk 1. And when it loads up press F1 then type rescue and install the bootloader again.

I just got a "D-Link DSL - 300t" this morning, took two mins to set up in win xp, thought it would be the same in mandrake, so in the manual it says go to 192.168.1.1 loads in xp fine, tried to load it in mandrake and all i get is "connection refused" whats all that about?

I use DCTC. A client you can trust, just find a decent hub and your all set. :)

I thought you could change the ports through most BT clients like Azureus, mabe im wrong.

Actually i can't connect at all in linux anyway because of my crappy adsl modem (bt voyager 100) so until my ethernet modem comes, it doesn't really matter anyway. :(

I was messing around with the internet settings, then when i tried to shut down it froze, so i turned it off, back on again, then i got that error. Any ideas how to fix it with out re installing?

Every time i try to log into my mandrake partiton i get something like **bringing up interface eth0:** and it just stays their and doesn't start. Any ideas?

Or even better rip in flac.

Alright i managed to get them, but i was still getting errors. But i found an RPM so it all works now http://www.altlinux.com/index.php?module=s...in-mac&print=on just incase anyone else is looking for a APE plugin.

You probably need to install the xmms-devel packages.

I don't know if this is the right forum, but i will ask anyway. Is their anyway to get mandrake to read kanji? a lot of my music etc are tagged in kanji, and it's a bit of a pain not being able to see it. Could you posibly link me to the packages or whatever.

Well for a long while now i have been ripping all my cd's in FLAC or APE. (don't really like ape because it isn't open source so i have been using FLAC the most) But recently i found another codec and was wondering if anyone knew much about it or anyone who uses it. here is the homepage. http://tta.corecodec.org/

Is it just me who notices how slow KDE is? it seems to randomly lock up and takes a while for stuff to load, i can actually say that winxp loads a lot faster, maybe i just fuc*ed up somewhere,

I just recently installed Mandrake and im loving it but, it doesn't recognize my ADSL modem (bt voyager 100) and i can't find drivers anywhere ( yes i googled) if their isn't any could you possibly reccommend me a new ADSL modem to buy?
