  2. hello, I have mdk 10.1 oficial dvd and kernel 2.6.8.1-mdk with driver 6629 (latest ) I compile driver but when I load "dbe" double bufering and "v4l" video for linux a get error and can't get startx , must unload these options from xorg.conf. somebody happens this, any solution?
  3. to modify lilo, enter as root, then write "vi lilo.conf" this will open text in console, then press " i " modify all you need and when you are happy with changes just press "Esc" then press " : wq+enter " this will save all modifications. if you dont want save modifications press "esc" and then " :q"
  4. a beleieve your problem, you have installed lilo in partition that doesn't have mdk 10 and probably this is your problem. you can delete one ext3 partition , only need one ext3(2 or reiserfs) and one swap.

    Gnome 2.6

no, you can install gnome without any desktop, only must have installed xfree or Xorg, download it and install it, that's all. http://www.dropline.net/gnome/download.php
  6. do you have hotplug added in kernel?if not, you must recompile kernel with this option on.
  7. if you recompiled kernel, maybe you have a kernel too big.

  9. believe it , look in scsi suport and you will see it.
  10. I put too what you say and I get same mesage, still can't mount cdrom
  11. supermount is no t included in this kernel and when I try to mount it manually I always get a message like this "[12:14:01/0][root@claudia:~]# mount /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrw -t iso9660 -o ro mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hdc, or too many mounted file systems " so if I can not enter to any dvd or cd . any suggestion?
  12. supermount has been excluded of kernel 2.6.7, so I dont know what can we do.
  13. Hello, I have a problem , I have compiled kernel 2.6.7 all goes well but when I try to install some packages from dvdrom instalation, system doesn't recognise any cdroms, somebody happens this? [moved from Terminal Shell, etc by spinynorman - welcome to the board :) ]
