  1. I'm sorry what? That translates into English as what? :)
  2. Go for it Gowator.. :D I did at work just to see what happens. Homepage hijack and some "interesting" toolbars. Nothing that can't be fixed with Spybot and Adaware though.

    .wmv files

Have you tried using mplayer to open it? If it doesn't, have you installed all the codecs that are available? You will have to get the codecs first then reinstall mplayer for them to work.
  4. Ok now that odd. I don't have a modprobe.conf. Think thats going to make it diffucult to add that line. lol
  5. I see you haven't found our lovely search function as yet brkville42NY. :-) Fire it up and I gaurantee you'll find one or two posts on this. I personally use popfile on my desktop and spamassisn on the mail server and both work like a charm.
  6. I guess I'm asking too much here... :o Not sure about lotus notes but they definatly have a windows install of it. http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.p...?group_id=63137
  7. Obviously you aren't getting enough in your inbox to try to find a solution then.
  8. Ive been using popfile to filter spam on my desktop and spamassisn on the server both of which are doing an excellent job. Popfile is great, you install it, train it as its going to miss some spam and misclassify others but very quickly it will be configured and your spam will drop to almost nothing.
  9. Got it figured out. Theres a smtp_auth patch needed, another multiple step process of course, lol but I have it working. My local qmail server relays to my ISP's smtp server then onto the world. I can't seem to get it to relay to my no-ip.com one as yet but I'm getting authentication errors so at least I know it's working.
  10. Had enough time on my hands last weekend to set up qmailrocks from http://www.qmailrocks.org/ on the server and it works like a charm. After the 3rd attempt that is. Man we have to work on this 20 step process to install things. Linux is excellent but writing this takes more time then it would take to install Exchange. Now I had to do a little voodoo to get around my ISP blocking port 25 though and I can't get Squirrelmail to work. What I had to do is get the Alternate port 25 package from no-ip.com which has me using them as a smtp server on an odd port. It works great for my email clients but not for Squirrelmail. I have to get it to authenticate to the no-ip.com and seem to be too blond, more likely its this darn cold making me stupid, to figure out how to get qmai/squirrelmail to authenticate to a different smtp server. Anyone care to point me in the right direction? Thanks

    VNC Desktop

To get fluxbox to start as the default wm in a vnc session I had to add the line exec fluxbox to the ~/.vnc/xstartup file so that it looks as follows. #!/bin/sh # Mandrake Linux VNC session startup script # exec /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc exec fluxbox I haven't tried this with any other wm but it should work for the rest as well.

    VNC Desktop

Got it. I had to edit the ~/.vnc/xstartup file.

    VNC Desktop

Just got my act together tonight to install and set up vncserver on my desktop and it works great. However, and isn't there always a however, it defaults to KDE and while I have no problems with KDE for VNC I'd prefer a less CPU etc intense WM like perhaps Fluxbox. Is there a way that I've missed to change the default WM that it uses? Thanks
  14. Umm a bit more information then it didnt work for me please. :-) I set my hostname that way last night and restarted the network and it works fine on all my machines.
  15. Isnt that gone though on a reboot? Not that any of us reboot that much mind you. I'm not on 10 yet but I assume the process is the same. Edit the /etc/sysconfig/network file so it has a line saying HOSTNAME="hostname here" then restart the network. That should change your hosname and keep it when you reboot for whatever reason.
  16. As I recall it was a licensing issue somewhere so they removed it. No big deal, just go get the rpm and install it yourself. Theres lots of software they didn't include in the release. Sides 1 persons best is another persons worst.
  17. Well then don't be shy, let the rest of us know how and what you did.
  18. Thanks, but I think I'm going to wait till the next release or maybe the final before I download it. :-)
  19. Funny, mine sure looks totally borderless to me. Course I'm running it in Fluxbox perhaps thats the reason?
  20. So install the needed librairies already. :) Have you looked at scrollz? Bitchx?
  21. Server on a windows box? ewwwww Or at least that won't help me any as mines going to eventually be on a mdk box. :-)
  22. Only if you tell me how you did the mail server. ;-) FTP is a piece of cake to set up. Afrosheen used to have an excellent tutorial on setting one up using proftpd but the process is the same pretty much. Protfpd or pureftpd and webmin are probibly the easiest to do when first starting out.
  23. I exported the MH in Sylpheed-Claws to mbox then imported it into Evolution without a problem. Gotta love it when it works out that nicely.. :-)
  24. Excellent thanks jeanackle that worked like a charm. :D
  25. We used to use Sylpheed-Claws as our email client but my better looking half recently discoverd Evolution and she's taken a liking to it. Probibly cause its very familiar looking, they use Outlook at work. :-) Is there anyway I can import her mail from Sylpheed-Claws into Evolution 1.4? Or are we stuck bouncing back and forth between the old email in Claws the new mail in Evolution? Thanks Ronin
