after trying to read my cdrom and cdburner from the newly created desktop icons (created via right click through KDE) I now get the error message on both drives "mount: no medium found" even though both drives used to work just fine. no system changes since the issue arose. tried manually mounting/unmounting/remounting them, tried enabling/disabling supermount, tried letting harddrake set them, double checked the fstab.. my frame of reference- http://www.irfanview.com/ everything I've tried thus far all have some element that renders them largely useless (showimg, kview, digikam, etc..) basic functions I need would be batch resizing, easy flipping through images and rotating (and saving the rotated image) easy renaming, flexible thumbnail views, slideshow.

I had the same issue.. did a fine and normal install of 9.2 on the exact machine.. but 10.0 Official spouted the same error. after burning like 23 copies of disc 1 (assuming a bad burn- using different programs and OSs) I tried swapping out the CDROM drive. every single disc that gave me the error now worked fine. (ok, well, like 4 of them.. I didn't try my entire new pile of coasters) that drive worked(s) fine for everything else, including 9.2 and winXP installs.. but for some reason.. it didn't like 10.0-O (i still have it as the second drive in the machine- works great for everything else)

is there any means to install *.deb files on a Mandrake system? I see that there's a port of apt(-get) to mandrake, but if I'm reading the description correctly, its been refitted to work with rpm's.

Mandrake 10.0 Official: clean install, (most)everything seems to work wonderfully ... except for the extra thumb buttons on the intellimouse which\(as best as I can tell), are mapped to send a right_alt-arrow key signal. now the interesting part- holding down the right alt key and pressing an arrow key does not function as if the alt key were pressed! but using the left alt key does!!! so- how can i change mdk/kde's default use of the right alt key -and/or- get the right alt key to work!!!
