  1. ok, thanks for your answers 1) i tried to reinstall xawtv : urpme xawtv urpme xawtv-common delete .xawtv in home directory urpmi xawtv, which installe xawtv and xawtv-common 2) i tried both to launch xawtv as user and as root but, it freezes again in both cases 3) i tried alt-sys-r, alt-sys-s ... alt-sys-b and the computer reboots so it is a X freeze, as kernel responds for rebooting. Could this be a problem with ati drivers, like they don't like overlay or 32 bit render ?
  2. Thanks for your answer if i run it from a console, it freezes too but nothing appears before. I also look at the /var/log/messages but nothing about the freeze what is the "alt-sysrq-r,s,e etc out" ? thanks
  3. Hello, I've installed Mandriva 2005 I've updated it When i launch xawtv, the window appears with strange colors, a window called "Welcome" appears, but my computer freezes instantly. I can only reboot it... At the other side, tvtime works great with no pbs. I need xawtv too, can you help me ? It worked great with Mdk 10.0 and 10.1 My hardware : Athlon XP 2800+ 1 Go Ram Ati Radeon 9600 pro Pinnacle PC TV Mandriva 2005 kernel 2.6.11-12mdk ati-driver-8.14.13 xawtv 3.94
  4. Well, after some tries, i found one thing : At boot, the Windows key is found as F13 by khotkeys But, with the mandrake control center, if i set up my keyboard in the keyboard section, the Windows key is recognised as the Windows key In khotkeys, i can use the Win + E and it works But 2 problems : - The K menu doesn't appear when the windows touch is pressed - if I restart the mandrake, the Windows key is set up as F13 again. DaveQB -> yes, my keyboard has 3 special keys, and i've just assigned one of its to open Konqueror, and it works ;) But, i'm sure khotkeys could be used to have Win + E for Konqueror and Win to lauch K menu. Perhaps, a command can tell that F13 = Win ?
  5. Hello In the KDE control center, there's a tool called "khotkeys" I try to enable the "Go to KDE Website" in the examples group, but it doesn't work. First, i activate the examples group, then i activate the "Go to KDE Website" After validating, if i use "Windows + E", the menu pop ups and the focus go to "Executer une commande". Can anyone help me ?
  6. Hello, I've beta tested the mandriva 2005. So i have the last RC2 installed, updated with cooker rpms until yesterday. This morning, i change my urpmi configuration in order to use the official rpms instead of cooker ones. A urpmi --auto-select said that all is up to date. So, what is the differences between my RC2 updated and a fresh 2005 official installation ? (only commercial packages ?) Thanks for your answers ;)
  7. have you seen my topic just behind yours ?
  8. Pierre Lo Cicero gave me the answer : in /etc/shorewall/policy, there is : masq net ACCEPT loc net ACCEPT fw net ACCEPT net all DROP info all all REJECT info just transform in : masq net ACCEPT loc net ACCEPT fw net ACCEPT net all DROP all all REJECT and it works. hopes that help another person.
  9. Hello, I have a problem with shorewall. It spends time writing warnings in /var/log/messages and /var/log/syslog Like this : Apr 3 11:34:32 bureau kernel: Shorewall:net2all:DROP:IN=ppp0 OUT= MAC= SRC=12.216.*.* DST=213.103.*.* LEN=48 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=112 ID=12341 DF PROTO=TCP SPT=4575 DPT=21191 WINDOW=64240 RES=0x00 SYN URGP=0 The problem is that the size of /var/log/messages & /var/log/syslog are now > 20 Mo ! It didn't do this in mdk 9.2 I'm under mdk10 with kernel 2.6.3-7mdk and shorewall-1.4.8-3mdk Do you have any idea ? moved to security by Ixthusdan
