  1. Hello, i have bought a new niffy Panasonic fz20 camera, and I am trying to mount it on two different mandy boxes. I have checked with USBview, and it finds the camera on my usb port. When i click on cofigure it says that the location of devfs is under /proc/bus/usb/devices, but thats the normal place right :) I am using gphoto2 (2.1.5), which has driver support for the camera, but it doesnt find it on my usb port. It is neither possible to use good ols fasion Konqueror/Krusader etc to find the camera under /mnt. Any ideas? Would really like to empty my memory card on a linux boz ( have access to a wintello box, where it works automatically.....) *patiently awaiting any bright ideas, hints, twaks* Happy holidays people!
  2. thanks a mill that worked like a charm!!
  3. *feels stupid* Well that helped, and i ran the usual ./configure make make install. Worked fine....until I typed in kmpio... kmpio: error while loading shared libraries: libmpio.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory The libmpio i think is make during the make of mpio, so the big $1000 for me is how to get this to work? I have kmpio and mpio is seperate folders in my home directory. If they should be elsewhere, dont kill me :) In advance thanks for any and all help!
  4. Hi. I have a MPIO player that I would like to have working under MDK 10.1. I cant run the KMpio file before I have MPIO installed. When I try with the rpm file (.71 pre2) I get the following error message: Some package requested cannot be installed: mpio-0.7.1_pre2-1.i386 (due to unsatisfied libreadline.so.4) do you agree ? So i tried with the tarball instead: :/configure checking for libusb-config... no configure: WARNING: *** You need at least version 0.1.7 of the libusb library for USB support *** http://sourceforge.net/projects/libusb/ *** If you cannot find the appropriate version, try CVS When I check with mdk control center I have libusb installed, with a fresh enough version (guess its the standard that comes with Main). Anyone who knows what I should do? Apologize if this is a stupid question :) In advance, thanks!

Got the same problem: [carl@elysium carl]$ menudrake attribute |/" charset| in "?package(menu)" is invalid attribute |System\/System/" charset| in "?package(menu)" is invalid attribute |System\/System/Configuration\/" charset| in "?package(menu)" is invalid Segmentation fault Any ideas? I have uninstall/reinstalled menudrake.
  6. Case solved, it was the darn firewall that was blovking everything :)
  7. its ethernet, modem not router. will get back with more info, as i am getting in touch with people again (had my laptop in for service for one month (was covered by two day warranty...), but will try once again in a while. Ciao
  8. Ok people. I am now the proud owner of a 2 mb line with Neuf, with the neuf box. However, with mdk 10.1 comm I am not able to connect. I type in my account info when I set internet connection to adsl and free (can only choose 512 and 1024 line under adsl config), so anyone whos got any ideas on what to do? Kindly regards, TimeTwister.
  9. Ok I am going for neuf, but...I cant see that their modems support linux....And I cant find a way of contacting them. Anyone whos got any experiences with Neuf and Linux? Kindly regards, TimeTwister
  10. I have checked around on the Neuf site and based on this section: Dois-je résilier mon abonnement avec France Telecom ? The reference for this section is here: neuf degroupe total faq Ok, but so far: the difference between Neuf and Free, is that Free offers a 5 mb line, while Neuf has a 2 mb line, but some sort of refund? Anyone who knows if it is possible to connect with linux (mdk10) with Neuf? Once again, thanks for all the replies :) TimeTwister
  11. Once again thanks for all the responses!! I am looking into the Degroupe Total -anyone who knows how stable/viable it is? Secondly, if I understand Free.fr correctly, it is not a problem getting Degroupe Total if you do not have a current subscription with Fr. Telecom, correct? Thirdly, since I live in the 'blue' area (en cours) of Toulouse, Degroupe should be possible? If there isnt anything I have forgotten, then I can use my landline outlet (?) for the Degroupe....? Or do I need some other socket, e.g. a 45 jacket? And I get a landline as well, free of charge to other landlines, for a whupping 29.99€? thats nice :) Once again, thanks for any and all input. TimeTwister
  12. Thanks for all the replies :=) I have sent them an email (in english I know, but my technical french is not eh....the best :) So now I will see what they say, regards, TimeTwister
  13. Thanks for the answers :) as to phone bills: i will mostly be using skype ;) but if I have understood this correctly: I need to have a landline subscription (which I currently dont have, but the line is ready since the person who lived in the place a year ago had one). Then I contact free.fr and have them open up a line? So my total costs pr month will be about 43 euros or so? Sounds about right, or do I not need a landline (from e.g. frence telecom)? Sorry for the stupid questions, but I have only been in this country for 20 days :) Cheers,
  14. and by the way, thanks Toulouse is a nice town/city, even though things take some time around here hehe -not used to that yet :=)
  15. Hi everyone! Roland, thanks for the replies. I am wondering if you would be so kind and explain abit what you mean by degroupe zone? Cause I am also looking for a phone connection, so sounds quite good :)
