  1. I installed RealPlayer 10 with rpm. I have Mandrake 10.1 and I'm using Firefox 1.5. When I try to open a RealPlayer video, realplayer program starts but doesn't play the movie. The installation went succesfully. I can listen to a radio station in ram. I cannot see the movie at www.jamesblunt.com/video.html# Thanks Happy Holidays
  2. Hello everyone, I'm wondering if we should update Mandriva using urpmi? I've recently read we shouldn't but that is the first time I hear about it. What do you think? Christophe
  3. I just updated my mandriva 10.1 to 2006 via urpmi. When I booted for the first time, I couldn't get the x server to work. I logged as root on shell and did startx. The reply was: hostname:Unknown host xauth:creating new authority file /root/.serverauth.8739 xini:relocation error:xini:symbol_sprintf_chk,version GLIBC_2.3.4 not defined in file libc.so6 with link time reference Thanks for your help

  7. The owner is root and the group is root also. Access rights are rwxr-xr-x
  8. I'm trying to make a symbolic link in my plugins directory for java. When to do so as a su, I get an error message saying:"Operation not permitted". Any ideas? Thanks [moved from Software by spinynorman]
  9. I can configure my sound card without problem and have sound but when I reboot the problem comes back.
  10. I have Mandrake 10.1 and I made updates using urpmi. When I tried to boot, the alsa service is hanging and even if I wait nothing happens. When I go to interactive boot and ask alsa not to start, the rest of the boot process goes well and I get the computer to work. Here my computer: Intel P4 1.7Ghz Asus P4b motherboard SB Live 5.1 w/ AC97 Maxtor 40Gb hd 512 Sdram Nvidia GForce 2 MX 400 Thank you Christophe
  11. None of my packages are missing and I still get a segmentation fault when I try to run menudrake! What do I do?

    You are right. It's easy to use and quite different of KDE. Did you try Xfce? Worth it to!
  14. Hi! I did chmod a+x and it worked. I had a message saying: "rpmq: no argument to your request" (translation from French). The reason I'm running this script is to be able to run menudrake. When I try to, I get a segmentation fault.
  15. MPlayer 1.0pre7-3.4.1 seems to be installed on my computer but I cannot run it. When I type gmplayer, Mplayer 0.9 starts. Thanks for your help

    When I try running menudrake via console I get a :"Segmentation fault" Any ideas? Thank you
  18. This is the message I received: Some packages can't be installed: kgraphspace-0.3.0-pre1-1.i386(libpng.so.2 unsatisfied) Do you agree?
  19. I tried urpmi as you said but it still doesn't work.
