i did a manual search in etc, but i cannot find any apache2 directory.

in the package manager, it says that the conf files for apache are located there : /etc/httpd/conf. howeverm when i enter that value in webmin apache nodule configuration , it tells me : The Apache server executable /etc/httpd/conf/ does not exist. If you have Apache installed, adjust the module configuration to use the correct path. The Apache Webserver package can be automatically installed by Webmin. Click here to have it downloaded and installed using URPMI. i am at a loss

Strange, even though for webmin, apache module is not configured or not installed. through the mcc iu was able to configure apache and it works. Don't know why it is not acknowledge in webmin. i tried the differents paths suggested but webmin still says that apache needs to be configured. However since my server is up and running so i don't know if i should be worried that webmin states it is not "installed" or configured" ?

i have just freshly installed phpMyAdmin - 2.8.2.2-dev. it work just fine but in the previous versions there was the possibility of add a password. now as i log as usernane root and no password, when i get int phpmy admin,m it tell me : but there is no link to change password. Any ideas where to add a password ?

hello, i can only log as a simple user on my linux mandriva 2007. every time i try to log in as root, it says root login is not allowed. any tips on what i can do. [moved from Installing Mandriva by spinynorman]

All the file i can see are refering to apache 1, is that normal, there are no mention of apache 2. i found the httpd.conf but when i put it in the path to httpd executable, it tells me : is that normal ? somehow i cannot find any apache2 in my rpm installed. how can i figure out which version of apache is running on my machine ?

i installed every thing from urpmi sources.

i comfigured apached following the using the drakwizard. however when i go to webmin it still tells me that apache is not configured or not installed. Do i still have to configure it in webmin, ie in the configure module ?

I have recently installe Mandrive 2007 community with server and networking options ticked at installation. However, when i go to webmin to activate apache which is installed (version 1 and 2 as it is) it says that apache is not configured or not installed. strange occurence, when i type localhost in browser address bar, there is the "it Works" page which is displayed. i tried to go on command line and type but then it tells me that apache is installled correctly. when i try to start apache from command line, it tells me something like host name not rignt or not found ( i have to try it again tonight to get the exact mesage). what i am trying to run is server apache with phpmy admin so that i can run phbbb board website on it. I am aware that need not only apache and phpmyadmin installed on my machine but as well some php modules and mysql modules. However, the exact list of packages to install for that purpose, somehow eludes me. which version of apache do i have to install and which other packages do i have to install ? help please.

i succeeded setting up connection to a remote webserver with Kbear but when i try to upload a file to the server (by dragging ad fropping from local directory to remote directory and then selecting copy) the application crashes. Any reason why ? Help please !!!!!!!!!!!!

even after changing the server name to pwks.no-ip.org, it does not work if i do not add the slash at the end, even after restarting apache.

strange occurence with ksmoothdock 3.5.1 on mandriva 6 : i configured a fireworks icon to launch fireworks and everytimes it launches it, it goes to the page "http://www.ualberta.ca/" even though i set fireworks home page to : http://www.markusklinko-indrani.com/photoGallery/main.htm this occurence only happens when i launch fireworks from the Ksmoothdock dock bar. Whebn i lauch it from anywhere else, it loads the right home page. Any advice ?

i got MANDRIVA 2006, it is activated. i have put website projects in the html directory i have a virtual web adress which is pwks.n-ip.org, now, when i type in a browser from another machine http://pwks.no-ip-org, it can access to the server and it display the message "it Works", However, when i type http://pwks.no-ip-org/myfoldername, it says the page cannot be found. In short, i do not have access to to the subfolders of my server but can access to the index page on the server Could anyone help me resolve this issue. my computer is on tonight, so you can test it by yourself at http://pwks.no-ip.org http://pwks.no-ip.org/photoworks
