  1. It works for me too in Mozilla but not in Opera. I'm going to have to mess around and see if a MIME type is incorrectly associated with something or what's going on. Just what I needed when I'm re-compiling wine for the zillionth time!

Edited to add - sorry tyme you were posting at the same time I was.

  2. Has anyone tried downloading those RPMs from Texstar? I clicked on several of the links and get a black (not blank) page and real players comes up and shows that it's connecting but nothing happens. I was wondering if Texstar planned on keeping us entertained while we're downloading except nothing happens!

  3. Okay, I downloaded and installed the latest version of wine I could find, 20030508, and found I was missing a few programs and after I installed them that fixed some of my problems. Through google research I was able to fix the rest. Now I'm down to ONE problem and although I get numerous google hits there's nothing that I read that tells me how to resolve the issue. It mostly talks about programming. :?

    This is the error:

    FIXME:pthread_cond_init

Anyone that can help me will get their very own personalized rank!

  4. I'll do some more google searching and see what I can find out about the winver option. Thanks!

Anon, yes I'm very familiar with that. The problem is that the other two computers that are running CASMATE have Win 98 on them. I tried installing Win 98 but since my computer is so new I couldn't find the drivers I needed. And the company I do contract work for will not upgrade because although the software isn't that expensive each HASP costs $2,000. Multiply that times 3 . . . :(

  5. I'm trying to install a program called CASMATE using wine. I can get the install started, it asked for my HASP key and then quits on me. I realize I may not be successful with this but I'd really like to give it a try. It's old software that was written for Win 3.1 and I'm running it under ME and it's not very happy about it!

This are the error messages I'm receiving:

Any help greatly appreciated! I've been working on this for 3 days!

In case it helps I'm using the version of wine that came with 9.1 and I have a dual-boot system with ME on another HD.

  6. Success!!! I couldn't find the downloaded files because they were downloading them in a location I wouldn't have thought of and then the file names are a bunch of numbers. Then it took a while to find something that would play them! Anyway, /me happy! :mystismiles:

    Next, the videos. 8)

  7. According to my daughter there's a built in player but I don't know. I can't find where it's downloading the songs to so I can't try another player. I've checked every folder in the Kazaa Lite directory. As to the spyware from what I read Kazaa Lite isn't supposed to have any. :?

But as soon as I can boot back in Linux I'll try out mldonkey. The thing is I'm trying to get my daughter to use Linux instead of Winblows so I'd like to get everything working for her. (I only use it for my job!)

  8. I used Motts FAQ (Thanks Motts!) in order to install and get Kazaa running. Everything seems to work fine, except when I go to play a song that I've downloaded it won't play back. Any ideas? Keep in mind that I've never even used Kazaa in Winblows so I have no real idea of how it works other than what my daughter told me.

Also if I can get things working what's the best software to play the videos with? I have something to prove here so this is VERY important!

    TIA!
