Good stuff Jet2k5! Thanks for this tip. :D I'll be refering all my Linux buds who are interested in a transparent terminal to this thread.
  2. I know the feeling. The only reason I keep an XP partition on my box is because I have clients call me asking questions that pertain to XP. Win is such a pain to keep running. Update your virus sigs, update your Adaware and Spybot sigs, run Win update to get the latest security patch, run virus scans, run mal-ware scans, pray that all this is enough. I've half a mind to blow my XP partition away too! :P

It was a 0 (zero). I copied the code you posted. If I substitute an "O", Eterm launches. Anyways, it works just fine with the code set as: Eterm -x --trans --buttonbar 0 --scrollbar=off http://www.usalug.com/xeroid/transparent.png thanks. :D

What is the function of the -0 that comes after -x. In order to get this to work in SuSE 9.1 Pro I had to delete the -0 or Eterm would never launch. Mine looks like this: Eterm -x --trans --buttonbar 0 --scrollbar=off Thanks.
  7. For those of you that would like to try SuSE 9.1 there is a good FTP install guide here: http://usalug.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2891
  8. I can probably help with the mousewheel. Take a look at this post: http://www.mandrakeusers.org/index.php?sho...topic=11524&hl= Pay close attention to the post by tyme near the bottom because I run SuSE which uses the etc/X11/XF86Config file while Mandrake uses the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file. The last time I ran Mandrake was 9.0 and I had a lot of problems with my M.S. USB wheel mouse not working half the time I booted. I set up my mouse using the PS2 adapter and have not had a problem since.
  9. Another method is to do a ctrl / alt / esc. Your curser will change to the little skull and crossbones. Now you're lethal. Then you can just click on the title bar of totem.
  10. Thanks for pointing that out tyme. I'm currently using SuSE 9.0 and it uses XF86Config. Mike :D
  11. To get your mouse wheel to work in Linux, sometimes you must edit your etc/X11/XF86Config file. First part of the original XF86Config file that deals with the mouse operation: Look for the above part ^ ^ about half way down in your XF86Config file. You need to open the XF86Config file with a text editor like Kate in order to change it. And now the new edited part of the file: I have highlighted in red the parts of the file that needed to be added. Notice the IM that was added in front of PS/2? That is the part that frequently gets overlooked. :D
  12. Nah, that would just make Tux sick to his stomach.
  13. Below is a link to the letters that Novell sent SCO concerning UNIX copyright ownership and SCO's response: LINK > http://www.novell.com/news/press/archive/2...2003/12/sco.pdf You gotta love it!
  14. Knoppix is a very good resource for troubleshooting and performing a demo on Linux. Knoppix is also a painless way to install Debian, just install Knoppix to your HD. http://www.freenet.org.nz/misc/knoppix-install.html Also, congrats on your engagement, VeeDubb. :D
