  1. Well, I couldn't fix it. So I did a re-install. When I choose either compiz-fusion or no 3D the logout menu is fine. When I use metisse then I only get one option to end session. REal weird.
  2. Just a heads up. I got into XFdrake. Disabled 3D graphics, chose non-proprietary driver, did a test(saw the lsd colors and a box that asked me if it was correct. Used the mouse and clicked yes) quit and hit exit. Then I did startx and almost got somewhere. I saw the mouse pointer again, with the busy icon and it just stayed there..with a red background. Did nothing but show the busy icon. I'm doing google searches to see if I can start er up, without having to re-install. @YinYeti is there an extension to the "desktop" file. I will be using safe-mode so I guess that's a default path "/etc/sysconfig/desktop"
  3. Okay so I'm going to try what Medo said. I can boot into safe mode and try from there. Just to at least get graphics back. I am using ATI. I should have not selected X11. As to OP I actually had metisse selected as my 3D. Compiz-Fusion had to many errors. Then I did a fresh install because of another problem I had. Chose metisse from the get go and still had the logout menu problem.
  4. So I checked and KDE manager was set. So I saw X11 as another choice. And of course I chose it to see what it looked like. And now my graphics don't work. I see the login but once I log in screen goes black. Is there a terminal command to set it back to kde manager. Otherwise I have to do a re-install
  5. I couldn't get into the pulseaudio console. But I resolved this problem. I did a clean install from the Live CD. It might have been the updates or the various things I added. My sound works in firefox and youtube plays fine agian. Don't know what it could have been. I'm being asked for updates now. Hope it doesn't disable anything....
  6. I checked the reported bugs and it seems to be there" inverted num lock LED". How would I go about applying the patch. EDIT: I fixed the problem. I did a clean install using the 2008.1 LIVE CD. Now the LEDs are as they should be. I haven't done any updates yet.
  7. I'm using KDE. How can I get into the windows manager menu
  8. I should have all the plugins, I followed this website PERFECT MANDRIVA DESKTOP. When I run firefox from the Konsole I get PULSEAUDIO unable to connect: Connection refused. I assume that's the problem. Also when I just tryed to enter Pulseaudio console from the MENU/SOUND & VIDEO/ i aslo get a connection error.
  9. When I try to use compiz-fusion(other than all the various other crashes) my number keypad doesn't respond anymore. So I don't use compiz-fusion. Now in metisse, my keypad works but i have to click NUM LOCK to off. The led indicator has to be blank. Kind of strange.
  10. Well, my logout menu has changed from having options to just one option. That is "END CURRENT SESSION". I have no options for restart, or shuting down. How can I fix this. Sorry, but I didn't know where to post this question.
  11. File name: libflashplayer.so Shockwave Flash 9.0 r48 This is the plugin from about:plugins from firefox. Mandriva version 2008.1 spring ONE cd. How do I run firefox from the command line?
  12. So my sound works when I listen to mp3s but it doesn't work for youtube or myspace. All my system sounds work. Can't figure out where to start troubleshooting.
