  1. Well, under Ubuntu I can very simply create .RPM packages, since there ARE the libraries for RPM build! And if you write a program, you are targeting the entire Linux world, isn't? Double booting is doubling the required space, which is not really efficient. Yes I'm talking about Gambas2, and you can even use my program http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/GamCat?content=100682 , which was created under Ubuntu for Mandriva too.
  2. Hi to everybody! Mandriva was my favorite distro since ages. There's only one obstacle holding me back of using Mandriva again: I'm a software developer in Gambas, so I have to have possibilities to create packages for various distributions. Of course I need debhelper with all its dependencies, but there aren't any of them for Mandriva, so I'm sticked to Ubuntu, although I'd rather move back to Mandriva again. Is there any solution for .DEB creation in Mandriva? Is it a kind of hostility with Debian, that disables creation of debhelper packages for Mandriva? This fact is a big pain for me. I'd like to see it relieved!
  3. Still no success with the vendor's driver. Obviously troubles with cups itself. Please fix it!
  4. I've installed cups-driver-splix for my printer, but it doesn't work correctly. Sometimes it just won't execute the printing task. I'll try with Unified Driver from the vendor. Any ideas? [moved from Hardware by spinynorman]
  5. First of all, I must confess, that I'm a big fan of Mandriva. But together with that I'm very disappointed about the Spring release. I've never encountered such amount of instabilities with Mandriva. I still did not figured out the new media management. 1. If I put a DVD into the tray, and close them, it sometimes just mounts it, in other cases it doesn't. There is a little annoying so to say media managing applet, which pops up, but even with this tool, I don't have 100% succes with media mounting. The dolphin crashes regularly... I've tried XFce, but the keyboard switcher is ever crashing... Is there any description available? Did the developers had to move to KDE4?
  6. 7. Hi, I would like to play Sauerbraten Assassin Edition under 2008 Spring. I've installed all available SDL libraries and even succeeded to go through the installation's procedure, but when I try to play the game at the point of "Recalculating Geometry" shown in the corner, the X server crashes and I'm getting the login screen. The same troubles are with all the SDL driven games. What's wrong? [moved from Software by spinynorman - welcome aboard :)]
