Thanks All. I Have tried Record My Desktop. GREAT. It work fine and can record Compizz effect to.The GTK+ doesn't work correctly, so i used qt version. I also try Istanbul, but when i click stop record, the application closed it self. Still have problem: How i convert .ogv to AVI? so it can be editable using avidemux.. Thnak You.........

Dear All.. I have been installed xampp in mandriva 2008.0 It is take to much step when we want start or stop this software. we must open terminal, type su, password and opt/lamm/lampp start Is it possible to create a shortcut in the desktop to start and stopp xampp?

Yes, u r right. It is first release that usually have a lot of bug. Actually i interest with the new look of kde 4. with the new file browser. I have downloaded and tried KDE-Four-Live which use kde 4 and distribute with openSUSE.And it is impressed me. Anyway, I mean when there is release of kde e.g 4.2.0 for Mandriva should i download and install the file one by one?

Dear All.. I'm using mandriva 2008.0 I found some link that provide KDE 4 for Mandria 2008.0 e.g ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/4.0.0/Ma...008.0/RPMS/i586 because of internet connection reason, i can't use URPMI. I connect to internet using anoter computer in another place Is there any way to upgrade to KDE 4 without URPMI? should I download all the files and install one by one?

I'am new in linux and using Mandriva One 2008.0 as main OS kernel 2.6.4 I just plug my Flash disk and double klik .txt file, Kwrite run and open that file After that I close KWrite, But when I safely remove the flash dish, there is spome error like Unfortunately, the device system:/media/sdb1 (/dev/sdb1) named 'NAJMUN' and currently mounted at /media/NAJMUN could not be unmounted. Unmounting failed due to the following error: Device is Busy: Moreover, programs still using the device have been detected. They are listed below. You have to close them or change their working directory before attempting to unmount the device again. USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /media/NAJMUN: admin 7649 ....m kio_thumbnail tis error occure when open (double Klik)some type of file like .txt .htm .jpg .png and .ttf but in some type of file like .pdf and .doc this error doesn't occur. @greg2 after I plug my Flash Disk, it automaticcally appear in storage device... To safely remove the flashdisk, I just right click on the flash disk icon an simplify click safely remove .. @SoulSe Have you checked that all processes associated with KWrite are actually dead? I didn't know how to check it. I simplify close the KWrite. Is there any program link Task Manager like in WinXP? There might be some background process hogging the file. Kill it and see if that helps. May be.. Help me how to know it..

Dear.. I have some problem. I mount my flash disk, and I open some .txt document using KWrite. After i finished my task, I close KWrite. But when I safely remove the flash disk there is an allert window appear, tell me that save remove fail, that message tell about there is application that still running and use data on flash disk. Because i dont know what I have to do, I just unplug my flashdisk. Iam affraid that it can make error on the system. please help [moved from Software by spinynorman - welcome aboard :)]
