Hey i deleted the removable media icon off my mandrake 9.0 kde desktop and each time i start up it makes a new removable media icon? is there a way to get rid of this icon?

is there a way to emulate .nrg files so that i can view a folder of the cd image in like /mnt or something can someone please help me with this and tell me what i need to do for this to work.

Do you have a link to this how to or is it just in the "Tutorials" section?

hey i found and installed the rpm for dx2 the program that will run descent2 under linux and all i copyed all the commercial files and all off the cd's that i was given and stuff but i dont know where the executable is and how to run the game if you know please tell me.

Hey i just bought a new sony 32x cd-rw drive and have installed it in my computer the drive registers in my bios so it is installed correctly but it does not show up in /mnt and it isnt accessable through xcd-roast im running mandrake 9.0 on a asus motherboard with pentium 3 550 MHz 320 mb ram So my question is how do i get linux to reconize it and have it work :)

yeah hey i tryed the demo for it on my computer and it seemed to work fine on a geforce 2 mx400 64 mb ram but im not sure how the two cards match up to each other but it is most likely that the game is too demanding of your GPU if you had... say a geforce 4 i think i would run flawlessly

Hey i have a asus motherboard with a pentium 3 500 MHz i installed a card with 512 mbs of ram into one of my motherboards dimm slots when i restarted the bios showed that i only had 254 mb's of ram installed when i added in another 128 mb stick and a 64 mb stick and restarted it only said i had like 320 i am woundering if there is a problem with the motherboard and if it is not displaying the correct amount of ram or if my motherboard has a max amount of ram per dimm slot and if so is there a way around it?

Hey i have recently installed mandrake 9.0 on to a old emachines etower 500is it has most of its hardware integrated into the motherboard sound, graphics, 56k modem. im trying to get the onboard video to work. I am not sure what type of video card it has im almost posative it is a sti card because thats what it set as the default driver Section "Device" Identifier "device1" VendorName "ATI" BoardName "ATI Mach64 Utah" Driver "ati" Option "DPMS" EndSection I tested opengl and it worked when i ran glxgears and it worked but the quake3 dedicated server still cant load default.cfg witch leaves me to belife that 3d accelerationisnt working im not sure what is wrong and im a newbie if any of you know what i can do to get this compuer working as a quake3 dedicated server please tell me thanx

OK the cd-rw drive is in and working but when i go to /mnt all is see is disk zip cdrom ? there is no cd-rom 2? i went to harddrake and it displayed my cd-rw drive but it still doesnt show its self in /mnt

wow i checked the back of the cd-rw and moved a little microchip thing and now it works but my next problem is how do i get it to work.... its a sony cd-rw

Hey for some reason when i bought my new stuff for my computer 1 sony cd-rw and 1 sont DVD drive and stuff. i hooked them up with the little 2 inch or whatever wide cables. but when i restarted and stuff it would only show the master drive "sony DVD" the slave "sony CD-WR" would not show up and then when i switched the cables so that the cd-rw was master and the dvd was slave i still couldnt view the slave ?? im running a asus motherboard waith a pentium III 550 MHz

Hey i heard that if you install the pointrelease or something and just copy the windows files to its directory and stuff it would work and all is this true if so does anyone here know what i need to do to get it to work.
