  1. Yup, that worked! Any idea what to do next to get it sorted? Ta.
  2. I used to be able to access some shared folders on another machine on my home network. It's an xp machine and I could access it quite easily for example via smb://mshome/xphompc05/shared. But all of a sudden it's stopped working and all I get is a timeout. Not even sure how to go about sorting this so any suggestions welcome. Shared folders on networked xp machine via samba. Access by smb://mshome/xphompc05/folders for example Printing to a printer connected directly to the xp machine still works smb://mshome/xphompc05/psc750 Only things that have changed in the time period is changing the router to use the opendns servers instead of my isps, although this shouldn't affect anything on the internal side. Also had an xp update downloaded and installed recently. smb:/ in konqueror gives me mshome but trying to click down to xphompc05 results in a timeout. Ta.
  3. Now here's a thing. Ripped a cd today. ogg-vorbis format. Now Amarok plays it at 2-3 times speed with no sound. Switch back to the xine engine and all is well. Back to Rhythmbox methinks.
  4. To answer me own comments, switched back to xine engine and podcast not working, switch back to yuap engine and podcast works.
  5. Installed the yuap engine and the feeds now worked fine. Mind you it did upgrafe Amarok from 1.4.8 to 1.4.9.1 so that may have been it! Anyways, does Amarok beta2 have mp3tunes support included yet?
  6. Some good points! When I get back on me laptop I'll see if Amarok can be switched to the gstreamer engine and see what happens. Asto Songbird, never had an issue like this before. I have to say Rhythmbox is impressive in it's functionality and it's what I'm using now but the roadmap for amarok includes some good integration stuff which I'd definitely make use og. Hence wanting to get amarok working how I want it to.
  7. Posted this on another forum but no answers in the past few days. Maybe someone can help with this? Mandriva 2008.1, KDE Added a podcast feed to Amarok. It found it and downloaded the files. When I try to play them in Amarok it flags up no suitable demux for the file which is an mp3 file. mp3 audio files play fine. More than one way to skin a cat so I download Songbird. Add the feed and click on an episode to listen to. Comes up with a box asking me what application I want to use to deal with this file. So I select Amarok. And it damn well plays the feed. So I install Rhythmbox and add the feed as an itunes feed as the feed is published both ways. And Rhythmbox plays the feed perfectly. Any ideas why Amarok and Songbird had issues with the feed? Ta.

    python-pyxmpp

Might have this sorted. In contrib it seems to be called python-xmpp. Have installed it and will see if my app now runs.

    python-pyxmpp

Hmm, removed all my repos and then reinstalled them from easurpmi. Contrib selected but still no python-pyxmpp. I can install it from the pbone site but it's expecting an awful lot of dependencies to be included. Any ideas?

  11. Thanks Ian, I'll have a look at sorting this tonight.
  12. I need to whitelist some modules to get the suspend working on my laptop, as well as change a few other parameters. On Debian systems I can tinker with /etc/apt/acpi-support to get everything working properly. Can't seem to find such a file on Mandriva. Have found kpowersave but it doesn't offer the options I need, What file should I be editing? Ta. Mandriva 2007 spring
