  1. I tried that first because it looked the easist and what do you know... it worked. :D the script now looks like: Because komics uses kuickshow to show the actual comic and it needs for the file to have an extension. It's working again now so I hope the newspaper will keep this adress. I hate it when they change things.
  2. You can install Xorg from within Xorg. After you installed it just reboot X with ctr-alt-backspace. There are install instructions for KDE 3.5.1 in the workbench forum.
  3. You need to install X11R6-contrib package. :)
  4. I want to have an date output in this format: 2006-03-11 How do I do that? The link is: http://files.ad.nl/strips/image.php?strip=...atum=2006-03-11 I have: But that doesn't work.
  5. Yes it's a nvidia problem. If I remember correctly you can solve it by adding an extra option to the xorg.conf (Option "ConnectedMonitor" "CRT" in the device section) https://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtop...onnectedmonitor (I looked it up so no I'm sure I remembered correctly :) )
  6. Digikam has an 'import folder' option. You could just download the pics to your PC from your camera and then import them into Digikam. It's an extra step but if it works... :)
  7. Digikam and the digikam- and kipi-plugins for basic editing. All you have to do is configure Digikam for your camera (meaning selecting yourcamera from a list :) ) and you can import and edit your photo´s.
  8. Could be a graphics problem. Try install-text
  9. Seems everything is cnfigured properly so that means it´s a mixer problem. Open a console and type: alsamixer Unmute every channel and try aain.
  10. If you get the need extra information comment try googling for it. Open a console and type: lspci -v and look for the information about the networkcard. Google then for more information or post it here so we an help you look. You can add the information in the MCC, hardware, hardware, select your networkcard and click configure (see the information about the MCC in my sig).
  11. I don´t think I understand what mail you´re talking about. You want the diff and secuity mail send not to your local mail folder but to an external mail box? Then just put in a normal email adress instead of your username. Or forward the mail in the local mail box to an external mail adress.
  12. 2. it´s saver not to send security reports over the internet (these are not encrypted in anyway). Better use a local mail folder. So in te MCC instead of your email adress put your username and in your mail program (for example kmail) create a local mail acount (so not pop3 but local). 3. In /etc/config/urpmi (or something like that, can´t check the correct path right now) there is a blacklist where you can add packages that won´t be updated.
  13. Do uou run Linux on your Palm? Else I think you would be better of posting this on a dedicated palm forum.
  14. Choose ´view´in the menubar and try the expert´´ option. (disclaimer translated from dutch so actual wording can be different)

  16. http://seerofsouls.com/rpm2006.html Mandriva comes configured for updates. No need to add anything. Just use the update source that's already there.
  17. Sounds like a permission problem. Start Openoffice as root (open a console, log in as root and type: openoffice.org-2.0 (or if that doesn't work try oowriter)) and see if saving works now.
  18. I found this: http://wwwnew.mandriva.com/en/downloads/mirrors

Doesn't look anything wrong with your Xorg. Are you using KDE? You could try adjusting the monitor settings. (Rightclick the desktop, configure desktop, monitor, multiple monitors.)
  21. I think you´re using Opera as browser right? Open the settings menu, applications and add rtsp and connect it with a video player.
  22. Makesure hardrake is running at boot. (MCC, system, services). It will detect an configure new hardware when you boot.
