  2. I have been given access to a Windows remote server. My question is: do i need to enter windows every time i want to check on that server? OR can i just connect through Mandriva (and how)?
  3. Now when trying to run Ventrilo i get the following error: Missing outbound codec (GSM 6.10 - 11Khz, 16 bit)
  4. Okay it is there wine-0.1.40-mdv2006 (/usr/bin/wine) I didn't understand what you meant about the Setup.exe and the Windows.exe files to put and where to put them
  5. Hey i tried installing Wine a few times today getting the same result every time -> Nothing! I installed the RPM for Mandriva (I'm using the Free, KDE). I cannot find the Wine program activation file anywhere... (Thanks to anyone who can help me out). [moved from Software by spinynorman]
  6. Worked, Thanks alot! Can anyone tell me where to get the special effects? (that don't come with KDE).

  8. I installed using the howtoforge (Mandriva Free) tutorial (http://www.howtoforge.com/the_perfect_desktop_mandriva_2007_spring_free_p1) Problem is during that install they say to install GNOME (installed it due to the fact i didn't know it has such a big difference from KDE). How can i convert my Mandriva to KDE? [moved from Installing Mandriva by spinynorman]
  9. Another problem i just encountered... Last time i entered Linux i mounted my NTFS windows local disks (C & D) onto a folder. After reset i had to re-mount (It didn't save it). Will re-installing fix the problem? ---- Edit ---- I just found there are like 80 updates for the system, I will install them all and see what happens next :] ---- Edit2 ---- It didn't fix a thing as far as i noticed.
  10. I might have found the problem: http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/1189/problem1fe6.jpg for some reason after i set the keyboard (just so it will fix the problem, i get the above message). As for the file: http://rapidshare.com/files/39906907/xorg.conf.html
  11. Yes I'm using Mandriva spring (installed from the CD, currently downloading the DVD to install it in a better way).
  12. TBH i didn't. I'll try later and I'll update here.
  13. Heh I'm new to Linux so i don't know a lot so umm sorry about that, whats Harddrake?
  14. Ugh read what i said... the mouse isn't the problem.
  15. As i said... any type of action like Right Click / Normal Click. And what happens is like a PrintScreen of the selected area (= normal click will do blank pic but drag will show the dragged area). To be able to click and do normal stuff i need to Hold CTRL untill i do the keyboard settings operation...
  16. I load up Mandriva... If i try to do anything with my mouse (eg. open files / close folders / move stuff) it creates a picture file of the area selected. To be able to click and do things i need to HOLD the control (CTRL) Key on the keyboard. To fix the problem i need to enter my Keyboard settings and just define my keyboard all over (once done its fixed untill the next reboot). My keyboard is a normal Compaq one and my mouse is a G7 (which I'm sure isn't the problem).
  17. Each time when i enter Mandriva to do any action i need to Hold CTRL and then click and stuff, To fix that problem i need to enter the Keyboard settings and just press NEXT untill the end (that fixes). How can i fix it so i wont need to do all the above each time? [moved from Installing Mandriva by spinynorman]
