  2. I've just come from Sabayon Linux, where my backup drive was recognised without problems. Now after installing Spring, all I get when I try to access my music, emails, favourites etc is:

    error - konqueror

    org.freedesktop.hal.storage.mount-fixed auth_admin_keep_always <- (action, result)

So all my 100+ GB is unavailable to me at the moment, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    thanks.

  3. Hi all!

I've just installed Mandriva 2008.0 & love every minute of it :-D I came from Sabayon Linux, where I used grsync there. Glad to say it works just as well here in MandrivaLand, so if I happen to hose my system (I'm a tweaker), I can restore back to where I left off!

  4. Thanks for all the advice, I'm now not so nervous about trying another distro! As you rightly Say, I'll keep Sabayon Linux for 6 months or so. However, with my Mandriva free 2007 DVD almost finished, I might simply use it to see if all my hardware works etc...

Again thanks for all the great advice, & for being kind to a n00b :D

  5. Hi all, I've used Windows for the past 10 years & am now upgrading to Linux. I installed Sabayon Linux 2 weeks ago & everything's going just fine. Here's the point, how would I be able to uninstall Sabayon, install Mandriva & still keep my XP installation? I know, tall order! Any advice would be extremely welcome.

    Thanks,
