I have did it follow your instructions to adjust the browser setting which set the port to 3128 but unfortunately this is not working. Besides that, i also try to install the drakwizard. After the installation, i follow the instructions there but the wizard displays an error message which is " You need to readjust your hsotname. "localhost" is not a correct hostanme for a DNS server. Few days ago, i installed Mandriva Linux 2007 Powerpack in my computer. I have set up a proxy server which the http address is http://nicholas_tse_proxt_server:1010 and ftp://nicholas_tse_proxy_server:1010 . AFter the installation, i configure the web browser which is konqueror to connect the internet through the above mentioned proxy but it cannot display any web page. It just display I want using the same computer to act as proxy server and simulatenouly i also want to browse any webpage through the same machine. Any help is greatly appreciated by me. I using Mandriva Linux 2007 Powerpack in my computer which i installed few days ago. Everything works fine and smooth. Unfortunately, this circumstances doesn't last long because i installed the 3D desktop effects packages. After the installation, i reboot my pc. Disaster has comes. I successfully boot into X environemnt but after i typed the login ID and password, it just hang there. I still can press numlock and move the mouse but nothing is display. I have login in text mode and launched the mcc in text mode and check the configuration of 3D desktop effects but the screen that your system doesn't support 3D desktop effects. I using Geforce 7100GS graphical cards and i choose the nvidia gefore 7 series as my driver for this graphics card. Any method to remove the 3D desktop effects packages or fixed it ? Thanks Ianw1974. I will try to configure my graphics card. By the way, i using Geforce 7100GS. This graphic card is not supported by Linux. What driver should i use. I have another version of Mandriva 2007 free version, i have try to use the nv, nvdia128, vesa(Bad) and nvidia geforce nvidia 7100 gs. I run out of idea to configure the graphics crad. Besides that, i also try to install the driver from official NVIDIA website but the driver complaint that the kernel interface doesn't match. What should i do now ? Please forgive my stupidness. I planning to install the latest version of anjuta in my pc. Unfortunately, my pc complaint that i don't have nay glibc-2.0 file in my pc but when i typed some command to check my version of glibc. My sound card is nVidia MCP55 High Definition Audio.

I using Mandriva Linux 2007 X86_64 free edition on my PC. Everything is working fine and smooth. I pretty satisfied with the perforamnce and features. Unfortunately, i can"t get the sound working properly. When i go to system - > configuration -> KDE -> Hardware -> Sound. Then appear a screen like this I don"t know what" wrong with it. My sound card is nVidia High Definition Audio. My driver is snd-dsda-intel [ALSA]. I did not connect cable from DVD-ROM to motherboard. Is it this the issue ? Your help is greatly appreciated. Hello guys, I am a newbie to computer. I quite interested to know about the Bash, Ksh, tcsh and many more. Question : When i type, shutdown -t 0 shutdown -t now in the console. It won"t work. If i typed shutdown now It is work but it go to a black screen which is switch to run level 1 from level 6 which is the GUI desktop. sh-3.1 # After it, i don"t know why the system cannot shuting down. What command should i type in order to shuting down the system. I know the difference between $ and #. $ is a normal user and # is a root user which have unlimited permission to change the system.
