  3. i installed mandriva on my first harddrive(36gb) and i was planning on using my 2nd hd (200gb) for storage and keeping only the os on the 1st harddrive. but i am nto sure how to set it up so mandriva recognizes the second harddrive... it says i only have 5gb left on my filesystem.. any help?
  4. alright i got the driver running and i am using it now but the resolution still doesnt work on 1680x1050 or 1600x1000 (the 2 resolutions that work best with my 20.1 widescreen monitor) its only workign on 1280x1024(which looks horrible on a widescreen since thats like 5:4 and my monitor is 16:9)

  12. thats ati mobility radeon (laptop) not ati radeon x700! and what exactly is this terminal you speak of?
  13. alright i managed to get it running at 1280x1024 resolution (my comp should be running at 1680x1050) and tried to download the drivers for my graphics card to switch it over to the right driver and whe ni go to open the .run file it wouldn't run it just kept erroring and i retried it a few times but it didnt work specs: http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/linux/linux-radeon.html ATI Proprietary Linux x86 Display Driver 8.32.5 radeon x700 any more help? haha
  14. i have an ati radeon x700 graphics card but its not on the list the only ones that are there are radeon, radeon (fbdev), radeon (fglrx) radeon (vesa), radeon 8500 (i have a widescreen lcd monitor if that makes any difference too)
  15. i just installed mandriva 2007 and am not sure what to do after logging in for the first time i type startx and then it comes up saying (EE) No devices deteced. Fatal server error: noscreens found XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server "'0.0" after 0 reqests (o known processed) with 0 events remaining. any help for a newbie?
