I intend to use Front Page, but i want that Front Page can acces /var/www/html folder to edit the html, i don;t use any protocol know , what is your recomandation?

anyone pls ? any sugestion , anythink ... I really need this one to work

I will work on part of server administration but editing the web pages on my webserver will be someone who is used to the front page .... what can i do that pages in / var / www / html can be edited with FrontPage from another computer with another IP. On the old server I used the system in windows like this : My Network Places - Map network drive, I wrote the web address, server asked me for user login and password, then i go to front page logged in with user and passw and edit pages.On my new web server i don't know how to do that. I forgot to mention that former server was managed by someone else and I can not find him to explain me, out of country.

How new is the server? I would say there is problem with tg3 module implementation or some other network module is overriding it. Check if a bcm module is loaded:

 

lsmod |grep -i bcm

# lsmod |grep -i bcm

returned nothing ....

I've recently install mandriva 2009 on IBM server xSeries 205 and try to connect to internet on my network PC-switch-router-modem, and the following error ocured : "Unable to find network interface for selected device (using tg3 driver) " . I run Konsole and su root , and ifconfig :

i wrote ifconfig eth0 in console as root and the result was : etho: error fetching interface information : Device not found

Is your net switch using DHCP, or static addresses?

Static (192.168.100.2), what can be the solution ? I forget to tell that the green led on the network card (IBM ) is working .

I have a IBM XSeries 205, and I put mandriva one 2009 on it.

I was instaling mandriva with the network cable on.

No error till know, but the internet connection doen't work.

I go to Network Center, and it said "unable to find network interface for selected device (using tg3 driver)" .

The network is like this, MODEM- ROUTER -SWITCH-IBM X Series 205 (this one).

If I put the Cable from switch to another PC wors great .

What should I do ?

EDIT: I've marked this thread solved, although we haven't really told you how to install urpmi in PCLOS, which is what you asked. But since it isn't easily possible and you've figured out the native package manager I guess we're done here.

This thread is really solved and now I work with PClinuxOS.

i've instaled PClinuxOS that look like Mandriva2007 and a theme of Windows Vista , an I've searched for urpmi , but is missing .

i have Synaptic Software Manager, but I would like to use urpmi....

how do I install urpmi . (i can't find it with Synaptic Software Manager)

did you do a Linux-nonfb or Fail Safe, there is the same problem ?

you must install a boot loader lilo or grub , those will help you to boot from hard drive. in the installation process you have been asked to use lilo or grub , i guess that you did not install lilo or grub

in a normal console in linux after $ type this su root you will be asked for password and then type your root password .

the sign $ is now # that means you are root .
