why do you need Konqueror? i use firefox for browser , check mail , etc.

you can use firefox 3 from http://www.quickonlinetips.com/archives/20...d-alpha-builds/ this firefox is an alpha build with Flash and Java enabled or you can use something more stable like firefox 2 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ with java and flash enabled .

press ALT and F2 and in "run " write skype then press ok. if it's not working do in root console urpmi skype and see if is the last version or in root console write "sky " and press tab two times to see if skype appears and if appears press enter

i have a list of mandriva based firewall , 1. firestarter 2.guarddog 3.netfilter 4.shorewall (that i hate) 5.mandi 6.SmoothWall 7. classical iptables (homemade) 8. others (if you have another option please write it here) i've started this topic because most of us uses firewall scripts (homemade) but i find on the google many more firewall with grafic interface and there's lot of other Linux firewalls, including some distros that are specifically for this purpose, but i want to know your oppinion about the firewall you use on your mandriva. best regards, adrian [moved from Networking by spinynorman]

i guess that the port is closed (blocked ) by your firewall , so to open it you just do as a root , and place this rule in your firewall script at the start .... pls give more details ! #iptables -A INPUT -p tcp -m tcp --sport 22 -m state --state ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT

why dont you install mandriva 2007 ? i'm not so sure , but i believe that all your problems will be history in mandriva 2007 , here is the download place . http://www.mandriva.com/en/download/free mandriva 2007 cames with many more drivers than 2006 . if you are new to mandriva you should use a firewall (protection againt hackers) with or without an interface, firewalls like : firestarter, guarddog, knetfilter(kde), mandi or others ... you should protect yourself. you might find here http://www.mandrake.tips.4.free.fr/index.html

i was trying to install via urpmi but i wasn't succesed, so i download the iso .... ok , know its done , i buy a cd (and know it works ) but i will try to install like Gowator says and i will tell you what is the end of this. thank you all for support !

can i load linux without lilo or grub ? i want to load it from a floppy , i enter bios , manage to boot from a floppy and load linux an use it , and when i remove the floppy and restart the computer it will restart with windows for other people without lilo or grub .

in console in linux failsafe i wrote XFdrake and unselect 3d hardware acceleration and know it works .... i will get any soon a grafic card that can support a 3d hard acc :) thank you all for help !

i've recently use mandriva 2006 and when i heared of 3D desktop in mandriva 2007 i was so glad , but after installation i've notice that it does not work with nvidia, so my question is : when does nvidia work with mandriva 2007 3D [moved from Hardware by spinynorman - welcome aboard :)]
