  4. it is the standard MS mouse, with scroll-wheel and 4 other buttons.... on the bottom it says: Intellimouse Optical 1.1A USB and PS/2 compatibles... I connect it to USB... here it is:
  5. I have this MS mouse, but the back/forward buttons do not work and when I press them they have the same effect as pressing the wheel-button... any chance of getting this to work like it does in windows? it is a very handy feature... ThanX! :D
  6. strange... after a reboot all is OK, I can use rar just like all other archives... silly me! sorry!
  7. I installed the unrar mandriva rpm and I can unrar in console, I tried to unrar in ARK 2.5 and it keeps asking for an external program... even worst, after choosing /usr/bin/unrar , it does nothing at all.... searched kde.org for an aupdate but I did not find any... any info u guys?
  8. Thanx! the /dev/sda1/2/3 did the trick, now they are even available in Devices! :D many thanks!
  9. the mount command works with /dev/sda1/ perhaps I should put that instead of /dev/mapper/pdc_cdhciecf1 ???? ofcourse I made changes as root... gonna try the 2nd way now :D EDIT: still nothing... here is my fstab just to be sure... # This file is edited by fstab-sync - see 'man fstab-sync' for details /dev/hda1 / ext3 defaults 1 1 /dev/hda6 /home ext3 defaults 1 2 /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom auto umask=0,user,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850,noauto,ro,exec,users 0 0 none /mnt/floppy supermount dev=/dev/fd0,fs=ext2:vfat,--,umask=0,iocharset=iso8859-1,sync,codepage=850 0 0 /dev/mapper/pdc_cdhciecf1 /mnt/win_c2 ntfs nls=utf8,umask=0,ro 0 0 /dev/mapper/pdc_cdhciecf2 /mnt/win_d ntfs nls=utf8,umask=0,ro 0 0 /dev/mapper/pdc_cdhciecf3 /mnt/win_e ntfs nls=utf8,umask=0,ro 0 0 none /proc proc defaults 0 0 /dev/hda5 swap swap defaults 0 0 [keropi@localhost ~]$ su and I use mount /dev/sda2 /mnt/win_d/ -t ntfs -o nls=utf8,umask=0222 and D partition works nice, although it's icon in Devices is unmounted...
  10. no it does not work :( saved, exited, rebooted still unmount icons in Devices (only root blah blah blah) and if I write /mnt/win_c2/d/e on konqueror, it just shows a blank dir
  11. because I do not want to screw it here is my fstab, can you please tell me what to edit? # This file is edited by fstab-sync - see 'man fstab-sync' for details /dev/hda1 / ext3 defaults 1 1 /dev/hda6 /home ext3 defaults 1 2 /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom auto umask=0,user,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850,noauto,ro,exec,users 0 0 none /mnt/floppy supermount dev=/dev/fd0,fs=ext2:vfat,--,umask=0,iocharset=iso8859-1,sync,codepage=850 0 0 /dev/mapper/pdc_cdhciecf1 /mnt/win_c2 ntfs umask=0,nls=iso8859-1,ro 0 0 /dev/mapper/pdc_cdhciecf2 /mnt/win_d ntfs umask=0,nls=iso8859-1,ro 0 0 /dev/mapper/pdc_cdhciecf3 /mnt/win_e ntfs umask=0,nls=iso8859-1,ro 0 0 none /proc proc defaults 0 0 /dev/hda5 swap swap defaults 0 0 thank you ppl for the quick replies!
  12. ok, I did the mount command, and now where is its icon? on devices still shows as unmount, but if I write /mnt/win_d/ on a goto toolbar, it really shows my D drive... also, is this command resident? or do I have to do it on every reboot? sorry to bug so much.... :)
  13. amazing! this is very nice! thank you all! :D
  14. I have mandriva2006 powerpack on a normal 80GB ATA133 HD, and winXP-pro on a SATA HD, which is connected to a PCI SILLICON 3112A controller (also have sata on my ECS KT-600A motherboard but I do not use them...) as a regular user, the xp partitions appear but I cannot mount them because it complains about root priviledges... as root it complains that they do not eist!?! the card and partitions show up OK in MCC, named SDA1. SDA2, SDA3 any ideas? [moved from Software by spinynorman]
  15. on my case, I only needed to disable ipv6, resolv.conf is only one line, the router-ip...
