Mandrake 10.1, first ive ever used....

Ok, ive gotten most of it sorted out i think. I upgraded to mandriva 2006, and installed a second NIC. And im up thru the connection sharing. Whats next ? :)

The typing delay only happens in the MCC. The windows will also freeze for no reason.

hey, im using mandrake 10.1, and im setting up to be a router. Im using the wizards in MCC to set this up. However anytime i click and type in an empty field, the system locks up. same way with the package installer, if it says additional packages needed, it freezes. Anyone know of any remedies? Oh, and last night it said that Urmpi was locked? but it installed today. Thnx -Shayner

Im a computer forensics major in college, mainly what we focus on is windows forensics. can anyone tell me some utilities that would work for most linux distros? i wanna mix class up alittle :) Thanx -Shayner

is there any drivers that anyone knows of to get this to work? it shows up as an unknown device on the hardware list but im not sure howto make it work. im a noob to linux. Thanx

the USB modem comes up as unknown device. how can i change that?

Hardware: Pentium 3 500mhz 378mb ram 1 nic mandrake 10.1 Ya, for internet connections. the cable modem has a usb and an ethernet out so ill pry use the usb. The way i want it to be is Desktop (winxp home) modem->mandrake comp->switch< Laptop (winxp pro)

lol the accelerator just distorts pics and such. ur choice though m8.

There may be a way to get peoplepc to work with linux. Although im a noobie to linux, i know in windows, once you know the phone number that the modem dials, u can set that up in a normal dialup window instead of peoplepc's program. my girlfriends uncle did that and it works perfectly. maybe its worth a try? oh, u wouldnt have the fast "acceleration" -Shayner
